Full Job Description

Job Summary

Alfarm Global LLC is a fast-growing U.S.-based alfalfa hay producer and exporter with over 7,000 acres of irrigated farmland in Arizona. We operate our own farms, on-farm pressing facilities, and handle full export logistics — delivering premium compressed alfalfa hay to international markets worldwide. As we continue to scale our export operations, we are building a strong team to grow with us.

We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain & Logistics Manager to join our growing export team. This is a process-driven, operations-focused role — the primary mission is to build, standardize, and continuously optimize the full export logistics workflow, from hay pressing at the farm all the way through to vessel departure at the international port. Beyond SOP development, this coordinator will also support day-to-day logistics execution: booking ocean freight, coordinating trucking, and preparing export documentation. The ideal candidate comes from the hay or alfalfa export industry and has direct, hands-on experience with the entire supply chain. Candidates with prior experience at large-scale hay export operations such as ACX (Al Dahra ACX), Fondomonte, or other major U.S. alfalfa exporters are strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

SOP Development & Process Optimization (Primary Focus)

Lead the design, documentation, and implementation of standardized operating procedures (SOPs) covering the full export lifecycle: farm production → pressing/buy hay → container loading → booking → export documentation → trucking → port delivery → vessel departure
Audit existing logistics workflows, identify inefficiencies, and drive systematic improvements across all export touchpoints
Build and maintain process documentation, checklists, and workflow tools to support team execution and onboarding
Implement and optimize logistics ERP/TMS systems (e.g., Hay Cloud, ShipperXL, or equivalent platforms) to improve visibility, tracking, and operational efficiency
Serve as the internal process owner for export logistics, ensuring all team members follow established SOPs consistently

Logistics Coordination & Execution (Daily Operations)

Coordinate ocean export bookings with ocean carriers, NVOCCs, and freight forwarders; secure vessel space and manage SI/DOC cut-off timelines
Arrange and dispatch trucking and inland transportation to ensure containers are picked up, loaded, and delivered to port on time
Coordinate with farm operations and press facilities to align production output, container loading schedules, and shipment timelines
Track shipments from origin through port departure; proactively resolve delays, rolled bookings, or transportation disruptions
Prepare and review export documentation: Bill of Lading, Phytosanitary Certificates (PPQ 577), Certificate of Origin (COO), AES/EEI filings, and related compliance documents
Handle B/L amendments, telex release, and original document release coordination with carriers and freight partners
Monitor freight charges, accessorial fees, and logistics costs to support cost control

Qualifications

Required:

3–5 years of hands-on experience in hay or alfalfa export logistics strongly preferred — candidates from ACX (Al Dahra ACX), Fondomonte, or other large-scale U.S. hay exporters (including major operations in the Pacific Northwest or Central U.S.) are highly encouraged to apply
Demonstrated experience building or standardizing logistics SOPs and workflow processes
Solid understanding of the full hay export chain: farm/press → container loading → trucking → port → vessel
Familiarity with logistics ERP/TMS platforms (Hay Cloud, ShipperXL, or similar systems)
Strong knowledge of FCL ocean export operations, container management, and international shipping documentation
Experience coordinating with ocean carriers, NVOCCs, trucking providers, and freight forwarders
Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple shipments and workflows simultaneously

Preferred:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Trade, or related field
Mandarin Chinese proficiency (preferred — supports communication with Chinese buyers and partners)
Familiar with ocean carrier and trucking company charge structures, including standard accessorial fees, terminal-related charges (such as Pier Pass, TMF, CLF), GRI, PSS, and rate adjustments driven by traffic conditions, peak seasons, or port congestion
Prior experience working at a large-scale freight forwarder, NVOCC, FLC, or trucking company preferred
Experience with AES/EEI export filings, USDA Phytosanitary Certificate (PPQ 577), and Certificate of Origin (COO)
Familiarity with trade finance document requirements for agricultural exports, including L/C, T/T, and D/P
