ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

Cleans and sanitizes offices, bathrooms, kitchens, meeting rooms, common areas, and public-use spaces.

Restocks restroom supplies and maintains inventory of cleaning products.

Sweeps, mops, vacuums, scrubs, and polishes floors and surfaces.

Removes trash and recyclables and ensures proper waste disposal and cleanliness of disposal areas.
- Cleans windows, walls, fixtures, doors, and entranceways.
-
Sets up and restores rooms for meetings, events, and activities (chairs, tables, equipment, signage, etc.)

Ensures Tribal buildings are presentable at opening, during operational hours, and at closing.

Secures facility doors and windows if assigned to after-hours or closing shifts.
-
Performs minor interior maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, tightening fixtures, and patching minor wall or paint issues.

Reports facility damage, hazards, safety issues, or required repairs to the Maintenance Supervisor promptly.
-
Works cooperatively with Maintenance Engineers on tasks that require advance repair or technical skills.

Uses cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with safety procedures and SDS guidelines.

Maintains cleaning equipment in safe operating condition.

Follows all Tribal workplace safety guidelines and departmental procedures.

Maintains confidentiality and demonstrates professionalism with the public and Tribal staff.

Participates in training to improve custodial and facility care skills.
AUTHORITY/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will have no supervisory authority.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Must be eighteen (18) years of age.
- Preferred High School diploma or its equivalent.

Prior custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or facility care experience preferred, but not required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Shall possess a valid driver's license and be insurable by agencies insurance.

Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test and physical.
COMPUTER OPERATIONS

Basic personal computer skills.
- Experience with MS office products, databases, and email.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to operate standard office equipment (copier, fax, etc.).

Must be able to work with American Indian people and be sensitive to their culture.

Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.

Participate in proactive team efforts of Bear River Band of the Rohnerville Rancheria.

Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.

Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays & special events as needed.
