Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled certified Physician Assistant to join our primary care clinic. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of patient-centered care, clinical assessment, and treatment planning. As an integral part of our healthcare team, the PA-C will provide high-quality primary care services, promote health education, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This role offers an opportunity to serve diverse populations across all age groups, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
Duties
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and health assessments to diagnose acute and chronic conditions across a broad spectrum of medical issues.
- Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements.
- Manage patient care through EMR system, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Perform procedures including suturing, IV insertion, catheterization, phlebotomy, and sterile technique for specimen collection or wound care when necessary.
- Provide health coaching and education tailored to individual patient needs, emphasizing disease prevention and wellness strategies.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care, including referrals for advanced diagnostics or specialist consultations.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory guidelines including Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) regulations for prescribing controlled substances.
Skills
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems; experience managing electronic health records efficiently.
- Strong clinical skills in areas such as internal medicine, gynecology, pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health, and acute care management.
- Knowledge of diagnostic evaluation techniques including sonography and laboratory specimen processing.
- Familiarity with CPT coding and ICD coding (ICD-9/10) for accurate documentation and billing purposes.
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients on health conditions and treatment options clearly and compassionately.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams while maintaining professional integrity and confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
