The Opportunity
Location: Oklahoma – Remote / Field-Based
Employment Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
Industry: Legal Cannabis / B2B / Merchant Services / Fintech
Compensation: Commission-Based | 25% / 75% Revenue Split, 40% / 60% at $500K Annual Gross Margin | Target Earning Potential: $12,000–$15,000+ Per Month
Bonus: $500 for Every 5 Qualified Merchant Accounts
Territory: State of Oklahoma
We are seeking a driven, entrepreneurial Business Development Representative (BDR) who is fluent in the language of the cannabis industry and can use that fluency to open doors across Oklahoma’s cannabis and B2B markets.
This is a high-income, performance-based opportunity for a sales professional who is comfortable prospecting, building relationships, and closing business with licensed dispensaries, cultivators, processors, and distributors, as well as B2B companies and merchants in other high-risk verticals.
Cannabis operators, B2B companies, and high-risk merchants share a common problem: traditional payment processing and banking relationships are difficult to obtain and difficult to keep. Many are underserved, overcharged, or operating on cash. Our goal is to help these businesses implement dependable payment solutions that improve the customer experience and reduce their dependence on cash.
Through our partner network, we are able to onboard low-risk, medium-risk, and high-risk merchants. A representative is not confined to a single vertical and can pursue nearly any business that accepts payments.
We are specifically seeking someone educated in cannabis industry terminology, operations, and compliance. That fluency is what earns credibility in this market — not only with licensed operators, but across the wide network of B2B companies that serve them. Packaging and supply vendors, equipment and equipment-financing providers, nutrient and input suppliers, testing laboratories, security and transport firms, staffing agencies, build-out contractors, marketing agencies, accountants, attorneys, and consultants are all strong processing candidates, and most are far easier to reach through someone who already speaks the industry’s language.
This is not a salaried position. It is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity designed for motivated business developers who want uncapped earning potential and the ability to develop a territory.
Income Opportunity
Successful BDRs are expected to have the opportunity to earn approximately $12,000–$15,000+ per month once they establish a productive merchant portfolio.
Compensation is performance-based including commissions and/or recurring residual income tied to successfully activated merchant accounts and transaction volume.
Revenue Split
All commissions and recurring residual income generated on activated merchant accounts are split 25% to the Business Development Representative and 75% to ownership, Seay Payments, LLC. The representative’s share applies to both upfront commissions and ongoing monthly revenue share on accounts the representative activates.
Account Ownership
All merchant accounts originated, converted, or activated under this program are and remain the sole and exclusive property of Seay Payments, LLC. Representatives do not acquire and will not acquire any ownership interest, equity interest, portfolio right, residual asset, or vested right of any kind in any merchant account, and no account, portfolio, or territory may be sold, assigned, transferred, pledged, or retained by the representative.
Revenue share is a performance-based payment, not an asset. It is earned and paid only while the representative remains active and in good standing with Seay Payments, LLC and its processing, banking, and referral partners. Revenue share continues on each activated account until (i) the account becomes inactive, or (ii) Seay Payments, LLC ceases to receive compensation from its processing or banking partners in connection with that account, whichever occurs first. Accounts remain the property of Seay Payments, LLC throughout and may be reassigned at the company’s discretion.
Revenue share eligibility also requires continued production. A representative must activate at least one (1) new qualified merchant account within every consecutive twelve (12) month period in order to maintain revenue share on their existing portfolio. If no new qualified account is activated within that period, revenue share on all accounts in that portfolio ends, and the accounts remain with Seay Payments, LLC. The treatment of revenue share following separation of the contractor relationship is governed by the executed Independent Contractor Agreement.
The Oklahoma territory is non-exclusive unless expressly stated otherwise in writing in the executed Independent Contractor Agreement.
Path to 40%
The revenue split is not fixed. Once a representative’s portfolio generates $500,000 or more in gross margin to Seay Payments, LLC over a trailing twelve (12) month period, the split increases to 40% to the Business Development Representative and 60% to Seay Payments, LLC.
Gross margin is measured as the total residual revenue earned by Seay Payments, LLC in partnership with its processing, banking, and sponsor partners on the representative’s portfolio of active accounts, net of processing, interchange, and partner costs, and before the revenue split is applied. Partner identities and partner terms are confidential and are not disclosed in this posting. The threshold is evaluated on a rolling twelve (12) month basis.
Because the threshold is measured on margin rather than processing volume, it applies consistently across B2C and B2B accounts and across the low-, medium-, and high-risk spectrum, regardless of pricing model or average ticket size. Once the threshold is met, the elevated split applies going forward to all accounts in that portfolio, both existing and newly activated, subject to the terms of the executed Independent Contractor Agreement and to the representative remaining in good standing.
Qualified Merchant Bonus
In addition to the revenue split, representatives earn a $500 bonus for every five (5) qualified merchant accounts produced. There is no limit on the number of bonuses that can be earned.
A merchant account is considered qualified only after all of the following conditions have been met:
- Merchant processing agreement fully executed and signed.
- Merchant approved and cleared through compliance and underwriting.
- Scannable QR code payment solution fully deployed and live at the merchant location.
- Merchant actively processing payments for more than thirty (30) consecutive days with no chargebacks, compliance issues, funding disruptions, or other account problems.
Bonuses are earned once the fifth qualified account in each set has satisfied the full 30-day performance window. Accounts that close, go inactive, or fall out of compliance before that window is complete do not count toward the bonus threshold.
There is no cap on earning potential.
Actual earnings will depend on individual sales performance, merchant acquisition, activation, transaction volume, retention, and the applicable independent contractor compensation agreement. The $12,000–$15,000+ figure represents earning potential and is not a guaranteed salary or minimum level of compensation.
What You'll Do
As the Oklahoma BDR, you will be responsible for developing the market and building relationships with cannabis, B2B, and high-risk businesses across the state.
You will:
- Prospect and develop relationships with Oklahoma cannabis operators, B2B companies, and high-risk merchants.
- Target dispensaries, cultivators, processors, and distributors, along with B2B and high-risk merchants that are underserved by traditional processors.
- Conduct outbound prospecting through phone, email, LinkedIn, networking, referrals, and in-person visits.
- Educate merchants on available payment solutions and how they can complement or replace their existing payment and cash-based operations.
- Identify merchant payment challenges and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Conduct product demonstrations and sales presentations.
- Manage prospects through the complete sales process from initial contact through signed agreement and activation.
- Develop referral relationships with consultants, accountants, attorneys, POS providers, industry organizations, and other strategic partners across cannabis, B2B, and high-risk verticals.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, networking events, and association meetings when appropriate.
- Maintain an active pipeline of qualified merchant opportunities.
- Follow up consistently with prospects and existing merchant relationships.
- Build a strong referral network throughout the Oklahoma business community.
- Develop the Oklahoma territory with a long-term, relationship-focused approach.
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is entrepreneurial, competitive, professional, and comfortable operating independently.
The most important qualification is working knowledge of the cannabis industry — its terminology, license types, operational workflows, and compliance environment. You do not need to have sold payments before. You do need to be able to walk into a cannabis-adjacent business and be taken seriously.
The strongest candidates will have experience in one or more of the following areas:
- B2B sales
- Business development
- Merchant services
- Payment processing
- Fintech
- Cannabis industry sales
- High-risk or specialty payment processing
- POS systems
- Banking or financial services
- SaaS sales
- Outside sales
- Account acquisition
Existing relationships within Oklahoma’s cannabis, B2B, or high-risk business communities are highly desirable but not required.
What Success Looks Like
Successful representatives will consistently build pipeline, open new merchant relationships, generate referrals, and develop a growing portfolio of active accounts.
This opportunity is especially well suited for someone who understands that significant 1099 income is created through consistent prospecting, relationship development, merchant activation, and portfolio growth.
We are looking for someone who wants to develop Oklahoma as their market, rather than simply work a list of leads.
Why This Opportunity
Oklahoma has an established legal cannabis market with thousands of licensed businesses, alongside a broad base of B2B companies and merchants in high-risk verticals. All of them require dependable financial technology and payment solutions, and many operate in some of the most challenging payment environments in the country.
For the right business developer, that creates an opportunity to build meaningful merchant relationships and earn substantial recurring revenue share while active in the program.
This role offers:
Uncapped Income Potential – Your compensation grows with your production.
Recurring Revenue Opportunity – Earn ongoing monthly revenue share on every account you activate, at a rate that grows to 40% as you produce, for as long as you remain active and in good standing.
Territory Development – Develop relationships throughout the Oklahoma market.
Entrepreneurial Independence – Operate as an independent 1099 business development professional.
High-Value Market – Sell solutions addressing a genuine operational challenge, with partner capacity across the full low-, medium-, and high-risk spectrum.
Growth Potential – High performers may have opportunities to expand their territory, develop strategic partnerships, or take on additional business development responsibilities as the organization grows.
Independent Contractor Relationship
This position is structured as a 1099 independent contractor opportunity and is not an employee position. Contractors are responsible for managing their own business activities, schedule, expenses, taxes, insurance, and other obligations associated with independent contractor status, subject to the terms of the applicable contractor agreement.
Governing Terms
This posting is a general description of the opportunity. It is not an offer of employment, an offer of contract, or a binding compensation agreement. All compensation terms — including revenue share percentages, bonus eligibility and qualification criteria, account ownership, territory rights, and the conditions under which compensation is earned, paid, and discontinued — are governed exclusively by the executed Independent Contractor Agreement between the representative and Seay Payments, LLC. In the event of any conflict between this posting and that agreement, the agreement controls.
Seay Payments, LLC reserves the right to modify its compensation structure, bonus program, and split tiers prospectively, in accordance with the terms of the Independent Contractor Agreement.
