Position Overview

We are seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented BIM Coordinator / BIM Engineer to support our Building Information Modeling (BIM) efforts across key projects. This role is ideal for an early-career professional who is passionate about construction technology, eager to take initiative, and looking to grow within a supportive but fast-paced environment.

As part of MKB’s BIM team, you will play an active role in model development, clash detection, and field integration. You’ll collaborate closely with BIM Managers, Project Teams, and Field Operations—but also be expected to work independently, anticipate needs, and bring proactive solutions that improve coordination and buildability.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain 3D models using Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks
Assist with model coordination and clash detection with general contractors and trade partners
Generate model-based takeoffs, shop drawings, and construction visuals to support field teams
Participate in BIM coordination meetings and help track and resolve design or model issues
Collaborate with internal detailers, layout crews, and project engineers to align modeling with constructability and installation sequencing
Support field integration of BIM through Trimble layout, point cloud validation, and other emerging tools (training provided)
Take ownership of assigned tasks and actively seek ways to enhance modeling workflows and deliverables
Follow MKB’s BIM standards while contributing ideas for continuous improvement

Qualifications

1–5 years of experience in BIM, construction technology, or architectural modeling
Proficiency with Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD
Degree or certificate in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
Strong organizational skills with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently
Understanding of commercial construction workflows, particularly structural framing and building envelope systems
Demonstrated ability to take initiative, manage your time effectively, and follow through on tasks with minimal oversight
Clear communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

Preferred Experience

While not required, the following experience is highly valued:

Familiarity with Autodesk BIM 360, Bluebeam, Rhino, or 3D scanning tools
Exposure to prefabricated or panelized construction systems
Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings, and experience working with subcontractor teams
