About us

The founders/owners of Churrasco de Brasil are grandsons of Italian immigrants and sons of Gauchos, born and raised in Southern Brazil. In the Gaucho culture, family and friends gather together each weekend to celebrate the good things that happened that week: a birthday, a wedding, a good harvest, a newborn family member, or just the joys of life and friendship.

At all of these festivities, meat is served- and a lot of it! All the meats are cooked in the traditional Churrasco style: big pieces of meat are skewered and slow-roasted over an open fire. Growing up, all of this was done by our parents. Being the main Churrasqueiros, they always took these opportunities to teach us how to grill and keep the tradition alive. This tradition not only consists of how to prepare the food, but also how to share it with others. The meat, we remember, was always sliced onto everyone’s plate, and sometimes for us kids over a thick slice of homemade Italian bread.

At Churrasco de Brasil, we will do our best to keep this tradition alive in Phoenix.

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Gaucho Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. In this role, you will bring authentic Brazilian flavors to life by preparing and presenting traditional gaucho-inspired dishes that delight our guests. Your energetic approach to food preparation and commitment to excellence will help create memorable dining experiences. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about culinary arts, possesses strong kitchen skills, and thrives in a lively, fast-paced environment.

Duties

Prepare and cook special cuts of beef and other meats according to traditional Brazilian “churrasco” recipes.
Season and grill food according to prescribed traditional method and to guests’ specific requests.
Demonstrate excellent knife skills for precise cutting, slicing, and portioning of ingredients essential for authentic gaucho cuisine.
Answer guests’ questions concerning “churrasco”-style food and represent and convey Brazilian “gaucho” culture and demeanor.
Maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards throughout all stages of food handling and preparation.
Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service during busy hours, supporting food service operations seamlessly.
Maintain cleanliness of the grill area.
Complete any beginning or closing shift duties.

Qualifications

Previous restaurant or fine dining experience, especially within the food industry or culinary environment is preferred.
Skilled in food preparation, cooking techniques, and meal assembly specific to gaucho or Brazilian cuisine.
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper kitchen hygiene practices is essential.
Strong knife skills coupled with proficiency in food industry best practices for meal preparation.

Pay: $12.15 plus tips

Pay: From $12.15 per hour
