V Digital Services is looking for a growth-minded search leader to join our talented team. As the Organic SEO/AEO/GEO Manager, you’ll be tasked with guiding the culture of our search team, improving the quality and consistency of our SEO, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) deliverables, and growing organic search revenue through the success of our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Team Management
- Co-lead a world-class team of up to 20+ SEO, AEO, GEO, & Content professionals in conjunction with another Manager and the Director of SEO/AEO/GEO in the execution of innovative search campaigns for clients in a variety of industries.
- Level up the skills of each team member through mentorship, regular one-on-ones, individual development plans, and actionable feedback tailored to evolving SEO, AEO, and GEO landscapes.
- Facilitate the mind share of the team by surfacing the wins and learnings of team members and bringing a fresh perspective to SEO, AEO, and GEO deliverables.
- Support department budgeting, including staffing and resource requirements like capacity planning, alongside fellow management and leadership.
Client Retention & Growth
- Assist with client-facing responsibilities where you drive strategy in strategic moments and lead clients ambitiously to their goals at scale across your search team.
- Build strategic relationships with your team’s client stakeholders.
- Take responsibility for the performance of your team’s clients and play a key role in helping clients hit their organic growth, AI visibility, and search goals.
- Assist with opportunities to grow client accounts through upsells or cross-selling.
SEO/AEO/GEO Deliverable Quality & Efficiency
- Regularly identify opportunities for the team to deliver more effective and innovative deliverables across search engine optimization, answer engine optimization, and generative AI engine optimization.
- Partner with your fellow Organic SEO/AEO/GEO Manager and the Director of SEO/AEO/GEO in driving efficiency, quality standards, and scale across primary operational KPIs.
- Understand changes to the marketplace, search algorithms, and generative search environments, adjusting client strategies accordingly.
Who We Are Looking For
- 5+ years in managing SEO, AEO, or GEO teams in an agency environment (experience managing a remote team is a plus).
- Successful candidates will have a lean-forward, performance-marketing mindset, a clear POV on what is needed to drive performance success, and curiosity for what’s ahead in the AI, LLM, and digital marketing industry.
- Experience servicing and growing both SMB and enterprise accounts.
- Outstanding leadership, collaborative co-management, and people management skills.
- Stellar communication and presentation skills – you’re poised, articulate, and convincing.
- Strong negotiation skills and a diplomatic ability to manage conflict.
- Awesome creativity – you push the envelope, embrace change, and strive to continuously improve.
- Exceptional ability to recruit, motivate, and retain a world-class team.
- Willingness to travel as needed – you’re open to new places, new faces, and new ideas.
- A clear, insightful vision for the future direction of the marketplace (including AI search and answer engines), with a track record of thought leadership in the SEO/AEO/GEO field.
- Solid strategic skills and an impressive understanding of the business from both market and P&L perspectives.
