Full Job Description

Position Summary

Four Winds Staffing LLC is recruiting a pharmacist to support the Indian Health Service at Tsaile Health Center in the Navajo Area. This position provides outpatient and community health pharmacy services in support of patient care for American Indian and Alaska Native communities, primarily at Tsaile Health Center, with possible support to other Navajo IHS facilities if needed.

Tsaile Health Center is an ambulatory care outpatient facility serving approximately 10,000 Navajo patients in a rural area, and the awarded pharmacist will work within an established pharmacy team environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide outpatient and community health pharmacy services in accordance with IHS policies, facility procedures, and applicable standards of practice.
Manage patient medication needs and support safe, effective, and timely pharmacy care delivery.
Document patient care in the IHS Electronic Health Record (EHR) system with complete, accurate, and timely charting that meets Joint Commission standards.
Participate in peer review and comply with patient safety, infection control, and facility reporting requirements.
Protect patient confidentiality and manage medical information in compliance with HIPAA, the Privacy Act, and IHS policies.
Use IHS information technology systems as required for contract performance and comply with all IT security requirements.
Maintain professional conduct, strong customer service, and a cooperative team-oriented approach while serving patients, staff, and visitors.
Work assigned schedule and support continuity of care, including coordination of planned absences and qualified coverage when necessary

Schedule and Work Expectations

The standard schedule is an eight-hour shift, Monday through Friday, either 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a one-hour lunch break the pharmacist is expected to work 100 percent of contracted hours and may be assigned to other duty sections as needed to support patient care.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 36 months of pharmacist experience.
At least 12 months of experience in outpatient and community health pharmacy services.
Current, valid, unrestricted pharmacist license in a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.
Board certification is required.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively for patient and staff communication.
Basic computer skills and ability to work within EHR and IHS information systems.
Demonstrated cultural awareness and respect for American Indian and Alaska Native communities.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Immunization certificate endorsed by the American Pharmacists Association (APhA).
Prior Indian Health Service, tribal health, rural health, or community health experience.

Compliance Requirements

Selected candidates must meet all credentialing, background investigation, medical clearance, and onboarding requirements before beginning work. Required health documentation includes fitness-for-duty clearance, immunization records, TB screening, and annual influenza vaccination.

The pharmacist must comply with IHS, CMS, Joint Commission, HIPAA, Privacy Act, and applicable facility policies throughout the assignment.

Work Environment

This role supports care delivery within a rural Navajo service area where many patients travel long distances for care and where cultural sensitivity is essential to effective service delivery. The health center provides outpatient primary care, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, behavioral health, dental, optometry, diabetes support, and related ambulatory services.

Pay: $95.00 per hour
