Starting rate $32.91/hour with time grade increases

Hours per Shift: Sunday through Saturday/ 12 hr Rotating Days

Overtime Required

Southwest Energy LLC and all its entities abide by all Federal Laws and Regulations.

Must be a US Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident.

Laborer/Operator: Provides support with blasting operations and scheduled/unscheduled maintenance on equipment in open pit mine site operations.

Our company provides explosives and explosives related services to the quarry, construction, and mining industries in the Western United States. We have been in business for over 50 years and have found success through our dedication and loyalty to our customers.

Candidates should be motivated individuals with the desire to work hard, learn new skills, and be accustomed to working in teams to accomplish amazing things. Experience with explosive related products and services or other hazardous materials is not required, but desired. For those who are new to the industry, extensive training will be provided.

Our company has a vital interest in maintaining a safe and secure workplace. To that end, all successful applicants will need to consent to a background, drug and alcohol screening as well as random and reasonable suspicion, and post-accident screenings after joining our organization.

Job Requirements:

· Must be at least 21 years of age

· Must have a current MSHA, if not, MSHA training will be provided with our training department.

· Must be willing and able to learn and understand tasks associated with explosives handling under supervision.

· Must be willing to drive, load, unload and assist customers with hazardous materials in accordance with DOT, MSHA, or OSHA regulations.

· Must be able to walk, stand, bend, squat, or kneel for long periods of time on frequent basis as well as lift and carry loads up to fifty-five pounds for multiple hours per day.

· Must enjoy working outside as well as being exposed to changes in temperatures on a continuous basis.

· Must be willing to learn and understand all the health and safety aspects of the blasting and explosives industry.

· Must be willing to learn and grow your skills and abilities to the benefit of yourself and others.

· No felonies.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Computer Literate, Ability to provide positive safety attitude and have excellent

interpersonal and verbal communication skills

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out

instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems

involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

ENVIRONMENATAL FACTORS: Possible exposure to temperature extremes, dust

hazardous materials, wildlife and working in and around moving equipment.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT REQUIRED: Hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe boots, gloves, hearing protection and weather protection.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an

employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use

hands to manipulate, handle or feel substances, objects, tools, or controls; and talk or

hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee

is occasionally required to walk, sit, climb or balance; and also stoop, kneel, crouch or

crawl.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift

and/or move up to 100 pounds. Visual abilities required by this job include close vision,

distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
