Position Summary:
The Paralegal provides legal, regulatory, and administrative support, playing a critical role in supporting Restore Hope's legal and compliance infrastructure as the organization continues to expand. This position assists with contract management, legal research, regulatory compliance, policy development, information security compliance, and organizational governance. The Paralegal works closely with organizational leadership, outside counsel, IT & security consultants, HR, and Platform Experience to help ensure legal compliance across Restore Hope's nonprofit operations and the HopeHub technology platform.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field. (Work experience can be considered in lieu of a degree)
Two or more years of paralegal or legal support experience.
Experience supporting contract management, including drafting, reviewing, tracking, and maintaining legal agreements throughout their lifecycle.
Paralegal certificate or willingness to obtain one.
Familiarity with cybersecurity, information security, and privacy frameworks such as ISO 27001, ISO 42001, HIPAA, FERPA, COPPA, 42 CFR Part 2, or similar standards.
Technologically proficient, including advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new platforms and systems.
Excellent organizational, analytical, legal research, and attention-to-detail skills.

Job Roles and Responsibilities:
Legal Administration and Coordination
- Draft, review, and proofread contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Track organizational obligations under contracts and help ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
Track legal requests and ensure timely completion of action items.
- Organize legal records, attorney advice, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate agreement reviews with outside counsel and internal stakeholders.
- Schedule meetings with legal counsel and external partners.
Legal Research & Regulatory Support
- Conduct legal and regulatory research related to nonprofit operations, healthcare privacy, technology, grants, and government contracts.
- Prepare concise research summaries, recommendations, reports, presentations, and correspondence.
- Monitor changes in federal, state, and local laws, cybersecurity, privacy, AI governance, and regulatory requirements and summarize potential organizational impacts.
- Evaluate legal and compliance implications of new initiatives.
Information Security & Compliance
- Assist in maintaining compliance with HopeHub certification frameworks.
- Prepare responses to legal, compliance, and security questionnaires.
Policy Development
- Assist in developing and maintaining organizational policies, compliance documentation. consent forms, and operational procedures.
- Ensure policies remain current with changing legal and regulatory requirements.
- Support implementation and communication of policy updates.
- Assist in developing and maintaining security awareness, privacy, and compliance training materials.
- Work collaboratively with organizational leadership to continuously improve organizational compliance processes.
Develop and maintain trust and positive relationships with Restore Hope partners and stakeholders.
Advocate for individuals and families.
Participate in Restore Hope meetings and training.
Promote organization and community collaboration.
Conduct oneself in a manner consistent with the professional standards of Restore Hope.
