Qualifications:

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited college or school or pharmacy required.

Qualified pharmacy professional with residency precepting experience and completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency. Experienced in residency program administration, accreditation standards, and use of PharmAcademic. Demonstrates expertise in ambulatory care, community-based pharmacy practice, and chronic disease state management. Board certification preferred.

The Pharmacy Residency Program Coordinator (RPC) / Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for supporting the development, coordination, implementation, and continuous quality improvement of ASHP-accredited pharmacy residency programs while providing comprehensive clinical pharmacy services within Arcare. The RPC collaborates closely with the Residency Program Director (RPD), pharmacy leadership, preceptors, providers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with ASHP accreditation standards, organizational policies, and residency program requirements. This role supports day-to-day resident oversight, coordination, supervision, and operational activities as delegated by the Residency Program Director (RPD), including monitoring resident progression, ensuring compliance with program expectations, facilitating communication among residents and preceptors, and assisting with accreditation readiness activities. The RPC serves as a clinical pharmacist, educator, mentor, and residency program support leader while contributing to patient care services, quality improvement initiatives, medication safety efforts, research, teaching, and professional development activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the RPD in the administration, coordination, implementation, and continuous improvement of ASHP-accredited pharmacy residency programs.

Assist with maintaining ongoing compliance with ASHP accreditation standards, regulations, guidance documents, and residency program requirements.

Participate in residency program quality assurance, continuous quality improvement, and accreditation readiness activities.

- Assist with residency onboarding, orientation, scheduling, and longitudinal program coordination.

Monitor completion of required evaluations, documentation, resident assignments, and program deliverables within PharmAcademic or other residency management systems.

Participate in Residency Advisory Committee (RAC) activities and assist with follow-up of committee action items.
-
Assist with preparation for ASHP accreditation surveys, progress reports, and corrective action responses.

Support residency program assessment initiatives including evaluation of resident performance, learning experiences, preceptor development, and program outcomes.

Provide direct patient care services consistent with collaborative practice agreements, organizational protocols, and clinical pharmacy scope of practice.

Deliver evidence-based medication management and chronic disease state management services.

Participate in interdisciplinary patient care activities and collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy outcomes.

Serve as a preceptor for pharmacy residents, pharmacy students, and pharmacy interns in accordance with ASHP preceptor requirements and organizational expectations.

Facilitate resident learning, professional development, clinical reasoning, and progressive independence through coaching, instruction, modeling, and feedback.

Assist with supervision and coordination of resident daily activities, schedules, and operational responsibilities under the direction of the RPD.

Monitor resident compliance with program expectations, required deliverables, evaluations, duty hours, and deadlines and escalate concerns to the RPD.

Provide guidance, coaching, and operational support to pharmacy residents and interns consistent with delegated responsibilities and resident level of training.

Support oversight of resident longitudinal projects, presentations, staffing responsibilities, teaching activities, committee participation, and scholarly activities.
-
Collaborate with preceptors and pharmacy leadership to ensure appropriate resident supervision, training, progression, and competency development across learning experiences and practice sites.

Assist with development and implementation of individualized resident development plans and remediation strategies when indicated.

Participate in resident evaluation processes including formative feedback, summative evaluations, quarterly development plan reviews, and competency assessments.

Promote resident well-being, resilience, professionalism, accountability, and safe patient care practices.
- Participate in medication safety, quality improvement, and performance improvement initiatives across pharmacy services.

Support implementation and evaluation of evidence-based treatment protocols, medication-use guidelines, and clinical workflows.

Assist with data collection, reporting, outcomes tracking, and quality metric evaluation related to pharmacy services and residency program activities.

Participate in interdisciplinary committees, organizational initiatives, and pharmacy leadership activities as assigned.

Support development and implementation of medication safety practices and organizational quality improvement initiatives.

Contribute to strategic planning, workflow optimization, and expansion of clinical pharmacy services.

Support resident research, quality improvement, and scholarly activities.

Assist with project development, data collection, abstract preparation, manuscript development, presentations, and dissemination activities.

Participate in professional organizations, continuing education, and professional development activities.

Maintain competency and clinical knowledge consistent with current standards of practice.
