Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Mid-level Provider to join our family practice team, specializing in walk-in acute care services. This role offers an exciting opportunity to deliver comprehensive primary care and urgent medical attention in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about patient-centered care, possess strong clinical skills, and thrive in a collaborative setting. You will play a vital role in managing diverse patient needs, from routine check-ups to acute illness management, ensuring timely and effective treatment while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Duties

Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews using EMR systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks.
Provide urgent care for walk-in patients experiencing acute pain, infections, injuries, or other emergent conditions, utilizing aseptic techniques and advanced diagnostic evaluation tools.
Manage acute pain with appropriate interventions, including medication administration and injection techniques.
Perform procedures such as suturing, wound care, dermal fillers, and esthetic laser treatments with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
Coordinate triage processes to prioritize patient flow efficiently while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and data management.
Document all patient encounters accurately using ICD-10 coding for diagnoses and CPT coding for procedures; ensure proper medical records management.
Collaborate with hospital teams for inpatient or ICU transfers when necessary, utilizing critical care experience and ventilator management skills.
Engage in health coaching, patient education, and discharge planning to promote ongoing wellness and chronic disease management.
Support clinical research initiatives or clinical trials related to family medicine or urgent care topics when applicable.
Maintain proficiency in EMR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks; participate in quality improvement activities aligned with NCQA standards.

Qualifications

Valid state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with certification from accredited bodies such as AANP or NCCPA.
Demonstrated experience in primary care settings with a focus on urgent or acute care services; hospital experience preferred.
Proficiency in Epic, Cerner, or other EHR systems; telehealth experience is a plus.
Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and CPT coding practices.
Hands-on experience with procedures including suturing, injection administration, airway management, and basic life support certification required.
Critical care experience including ICU or Level II trauma center exposure highly desirable; familiarity with ventilator management preferred.
Skills in infection control protocols, diagnostic evaluation techniques, and post-acute care planning.
Excellent patient assessment capabilities combined with compassionate communication skills to support diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, neonatal patients on ventilators, hospice & palliative medicine patients, and those requiring occupational health services.
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams while adhering to HIPAA standards and maintaining meticulous medical records.
