Full-Time | Field Position | $16–$23/hour, depending on experience
Total Disaster Solutions (TDS) is a growing, locally owned disaster restoration company serving Mansfield and the surrounding DFW area. We specialize in water mitigation, fire and smoke restoration, mold remediation, and property restoration.
We are looking for dependable, motivated Restoration Technicians to join our team.
This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in doing quality work, treats customers and their property with respect, and wants to build a career in the restoration industry.
What You'll Do
Our technicians are involved in the entire restoration process. Depending on the project, your responsibilities may include:
- Responding to water, fire, smoke, mold, and other property-loss situations
- Performing water extraction and structural drying
- Setting up and monitoring air movers, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, and other restoration equipment
- Performing demolition and controlled removal of damaged building materials
- Assisting with mold remediation and containment
- Cleaning and deodorizing structures and contents
- Assisting with fire and smoke cleanup
- Moving and protecting contents
- Maintaining clean, safe, and organized jobsites
- Documenting jobsite conditions and work performed
- Communicating professionally with homeowners, property managers, tenants, and other customers
- Working as part of a team to complete projects efficiently and correctly
- Following company procedures and applicable restoration industry standards
What We're Looking For
Restoration experience is strongly preferred, particularly experience with:
- Water damage mitigation
- Fire and smoke restoration
- Mold remediation
- Structural drying
- Demolition
- Contents cleaning and pack-outs
However, we are willing to train the right person. Construction, remodeling, maintenance, cleaning, plumbing, HVAC, or other hands-on trade experience is a plus.

Schedule & Job Requirements
- Full-time position
- Technicians report to our Mansfield, TX location each morning and dispatch from there to customer locations throughout the DFW area
- Must have reliable transportation to and from our Mansfield office
- Must be willing to travel to job sites throughout the DFW area
- Must be willing to participate in occasional after-hours or emergency response work as needed
- Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Must be able to safely perform the physical requirements of the position
- Must be able to work in a variety of residential and commercial environments
Pre-Employment Requirements
Because our technicians work inside customers' homes and businesses and may have access to sensitive property, all applicants must successfully complete our pre-employment screening process, which includes:
- Background check
- Drug screening
- Motor vehicle record check
- Verification of employment history and/or references as applicable
Employment is contingent upon successfully meeting TDS's hiring requirements.
Compensation
$16–$23 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Starting pay will be based on the candidate's previous restoration experience, trade experience, certifications, skills, and overall qualifications.
Candidates with significant experience in water mitigation, fire/smoke restoration, mold remediation, structural drying, or related restoration work may qualify toward the upper end of the pay range.

Duties
- Respond promptly to emergency calls for water, fire, flood, mold, and asbestos-related incidents, ensuring rapid deployment of restoration services
- Perform cleaning and debris removal using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to restore affected areas effectively
- Conduct fire restoration activities including soot and smoke removal, structural cleaning, and odor control
- Execute flood and water damage restoration procedures such as water extraction, drying, and moisture detection with industry-standard equipment like Xactimate software for documentation
- Implement mold remediation and asbestos abatement protocols following strict safety guidelines and using personal protective equipment (PPE) and respiratory protection gear
- Operate company vehicles safely for on-call coverage while adhering to all safety protocols and traffic laws
- Collaborate with clients to provide excellent customer service by explaining restoration processes clearly and maintaining professional communication throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements
- Proven experience in the restoration industry or construction environment is highly preferred; relevant certifications are a plus
- Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations with on-call availability for after-hours coverage
- Knowledge of safety procedures including PPE use, respiratory protection, and handling hazardous materials such as asbestos or mold
- Familiarity with water damage restoration techniques like flood response and moisture detection tools
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, carpet cleaning equipment, and Xactimate software for estimating repairs
- Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and professional demeanor
- Valid driver’s license with experience operating company vehicles safely is required
- Ability to work in physically demanding conditions while maintaining attention to detail and safety compliance
