Full Job Description

Our Deloitte Finance Transformation team practices to help chief financial officers, controllers, and finance teams define and execute their finance and global business services agendas and strategies. You will work with leading-class teams and solutions, helping clients navigate challenging environments, market uncertainty, technology development, and regulatory considerations to unlock value. Your work may span strategy, operations, process design, and technology as we partner with clients to transform finance.

Work You'll Do

As a Project - Senior Consultant, Controllership on the Controllership and Treasury Transformation team, you will be responsible for:

Analyze financial transactions and supporting documentation to determine appropriate proprietary and budgetary accounting treatment and general ledger impact
Prepare, validate, and post journal entries and reconciliations to support quarter-end and year-end close activities
Support governmental financial reporting in alignment with Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-136 and internal reporting requirements
Execute controls and documentation activities in alignment with OMB Circular A-123 and established standard operating procedures
Follow standard operating procedures and accounting policies to produce complete, accurate, timely, and audit-ready workpapers
Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve accounting variances, address data issues, and improve close and reporting processes

Effective written and verbal communication skills
Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product

We work with the CFO, CAO, controller, and treasurer to develop an efficient, high quality, data-driven, tech-enabled controllership and treasury function that empowers our clients to drive more value to their business partners and to their investors.

The Project Delivery Talent Model is designed for professionals with specialized skills that align to a current client need. Team members focus on delivering services to clients, without additional expectations related to business development or promotion. Their employment is tied to their role on a project, and they are eligible for a benefits package that is competitive for project delivery-focused professionals.

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor's degree
Active TS SCI clearance with polygraph
1+ years of experience in governmental accounting, including OMB Circular A-136, OMB Circular A-123, proprietary and budgetary accounting, and financial reporting
Ability to work onsite 100% of the time in McLean, Virginia
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Preferred:

Experience preparing and posting journal entries and reconciliations
Experience supporting quarter-end and year-end close activities
Experience developing or supporting governmental financial reports
Experience executing controls and documentation activities in a regulated environment

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $97,700 to $162,800.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
