The Opportunity: This position plays a vital role in Student Services by supporting the mission of Skagit Valley College through programmatic and academic support for students in Basic Education for Adults (BEdA), including English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), High School Completion, GED, and Open Doors pathways. The position supports student engagement and retention by coordinating communications, collecting required documentation, assisting with registration, maintaining attendance and compliance records, coordinating instructional materials and program events, and connecting students with campus and community resources. In partnership with faculty, Student Services, and instructional staff, the position helps create a welcoming, student-centered environment that promotes student success. The position also provides direct academic support by facilitating tutoring and study sessions, assisting students with college and online learning technologies, strengthening academic skills, and helping students overcome barriers to persistence and achievement.
This is a full-time, 12-month classified position, working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, onsite at the Mount Vernon Campus and reports to the Associate Dean of Student Support Programs.
The Location: Skagit Valley College is on the traditional and unceded territories of the Coast Salish People’s, especially on Swinomish Indian Tribal Community, Upper Skagit Indian Tribe, Samish Indian Nation, Nooksack Indian Tribe, and Sauk-Suiattle Indian Tribe. Salary and Benefits:

Salary is based on Range 41, Step A, $3,738 per month with periodic increments to $4,866 per month. Starting salary may be dependent on education, qualifications, and experience. Salary and benefits are subject to change in accordance with legislative mandates and collective bargaining agreements.

This position is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act and is dependent upon continued grant funding.

This is a union-represented position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
