Full Job Description

Our client, a well-established company in the residential design-build and remodeling industry, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join their growing finance team. This is a newly created position due to company growth and offers the opportunity to support a broad range of accounting functions within a collaborative, project-based environment.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on accounting experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to expand their accounting career while gaining exposure to project accounting, process improvement, and an upcoming ERP system transition.

Responsibilities

Process vendor invoices and support the full accounts payable cycle, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
Prepare month-end journal entries and assist with the monthly close process.
Perform account, bank, and credit card reconciliations.
Review, process, and track employee expense reimbursements.
Support project accounting activities and collaborate with internal operations and project teams.
Manage and maintain field change orders, ensuring proper documentation, approvals, and accurate accounting treatment.
Track and maintain certificates of insurance for subcontractors and vendors to support compliance requirements.
Assist with vendor setup and vendor record maintenance.
Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation.
Assist with audit requests and financial reporting needs as assigned.
Participate in process improvements and support the company’s transition to Sage Intacct.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Associate’s degree in Accounting or Business with relevant accounting experience will also be considered.
2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related finance experience.
Experience with accounts payable, journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end close, and expense reimbursements.
Prior experience in construction, remodeling, real estate, project-based services, or a similar environment is preferred.
Exposure to field change orders, project accounting, job costing, subcontractor/vendor documentation, or certificates of insurance is a plus.
Experience with Sage, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or a similar accounting system preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
