Full Job Description

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Trust Administration Paralegal to join our estate planning and probate practice. This is a part-time, in-person position with the opportunity to transition to a full-time role within approximately six months, based on performance and the firm's needs.

The ideal candidate has experience administering trusts and estates, communicates effectively with clients and colleagues, and is committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality legal services.

Responsibilities

Assist with trust administration matters from inception through final distribution.
Prepare trust administration documents, correspondence, inventories, and accounting.
Communicate with trustees, beneficiaries, financial institutions, accountants, and other professionals.
Review trust assets and assist with funding, transfers, and distributions.
Coordinate tax-related matters with CPAs and financial advisors.
Maintain accurate case files and ensure compliance with applicable deadlines.
Track and organize trust assets, financial records, and required documentation.
Assist attorneys with probate matters, including preparing court filings.
Deliver exceptional client service while collaborating with attorneys and support staff.

Qualifications

Associate's degree, bachelor's degree, or paralegal certificate from an accredited program preferred.
Minimum of two years of experience in trust administration, probate, estate planning, or a related legal field.
Experience preparing trust administration and probate documents.
Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
Experience with estate planning, probate, or legal practice management software is preferred.
Illinois notary public commission is a plus.

Schedule

Part-time, approximately 20 - 30 hours per week.
Flexible scheduling available.
Opportunity to transition to a full-time position within approximately six months, based on mutual agreement, performance, and firm needs.
