M365 Copilot Governance & Adoption Consultant
Position Title: Governance & Adoption Consultant – Microsoft Copilot
Location: Primarily remote but within commutable distance to Arlington, VA for occasional client meetings

Position Summary
We are seeking a Governance & Adoption consultant with strong experience in governance, organizational change, user adoption, communication, and training initiatives for Microsoft Copilot – M365. This role will help ensure a coordinated, well‑governed deployment that leads to strong adoption and measurable outcomes. The ideal candidate is skilled in delivering structured governance, training, and user adoption support, coordinating large stakeholder groups, and delivering structured rollout execution and high‑quality end‑user experiences for modern AI platforms.

Key Responsibilities
· Deliver Copilot Governance practices focused on consistent and responsible usage within capabilities in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other M365 apps.
· Create job aids, quick reference guides, and training materials tailored to the organization’s workflows, processes, and user roles
· Conduct live instructor‑led training sessions as well as asynchronous training (videos, recorded demos, user guides) for both pilot and full rollout phases.
· Capture, track, and analyze user feedback and common questions to recommend, inform governance improvements, and training content updates.
· Support change management and help drive consistent adoption across the user base.
· Provide ongoing guidance to help users understand Copilot capabilities, limitations, and responsible‑use expectations.
· Support overall consistency of Copilot usage patterns across the organization.
Required Core Competencies
- : Experience developing and delivering governance frameworks, operating guidelines, or structured usage policies for enterprise technology tools. Familiarity with policy development, oversight processes, and accessibility (508) requirements. Ability to simplify complex concepts into actionable guidance
- : Skilled at managing sponsors, end users, governance groups, and technical teams
- : Able to write clear, accessible technical and non‑technical communications and training materials for diverse audiences. Strong communication skills, especially in explaining technical capabilities to non‑technical audiences
- : Strong presentation skills with experience delivering live training, demos, or workshops
- : Experience supporting organizational adoption of new technologies and processes
- : Ability to evaluate pilot data, user feedback, trends, and operational impacts
- : Comfortable working with AI tools and enterprise IT environments
- : Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot issues and recommend solutions
- : Ability to manage multiple parallel workstreams, deadlines, and priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands‑on familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).
- Experience supporting or governing AI‑assisted productivity tools (e.g., M365 Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar).
- Background in governance, compliance, or knowledge‑management practices.
- Experience driving OCM or adoption initiatives for enterprise technology programs
- Experience designing trainings, surveys, support articles, and facilitating pilot programs
- Familiarity with accessibility (Section 508) standards for training materials
- Experience in regulated or government environments
- Ability to translate technical concepts into easy‑to‑understand guidance for end users
Preferred Certifications
- Prosci Change Management Certification (or similar)
