iAdeptive is looking for a full-stack engineer who codes every day, leads by example, and ships products that federal users rely on. You deeply embed with client delivery teams — owning the full arc from ideation through prototype, production, and scale — and hold the technical delivery bar for iAdeptive's engineering organization. You move fast, document your decisions formally, and never ship what you can't explain.
HANDS-ON FIRST
You are the best full-stack engineer on the team — and everyone knows it because of your commits. You set the architecture, write the hard parts, and own problems end-to-end. You pick up whatever knowledge you're missing to get the job done.
AI-AUGMENTED, NOT AI-DEPENDENT
You use Copilot and Cursor to move fast. You also catch when AI-generated code introduces a security vulnerability, a Section 508 violation, or a race condition. You write Architecture Decision Records for key choices — because federal clients and future engineers need to understand why, not just what.
TREND LEADER
You track the React ecosystem, the mobile development landscape (React Native, Flutter), and emerging patterns in AI-integrated UX and accessibility. You have opinions on what modern federal applications should look and perform like — and you make them real before clients ask.
What You Will Do
- Deeply embed with federal client delivery teams as the full-stack technical lead — from ideation through prototype, production, and scale
- Work with senior stakeholders and systems integrators to identify the highest-value application opportunities and build a prioritized delivery backlog
- Build and maintain production web applications using React, TypeScript, and modern frontend tooling
- Develop and maintain mobile applications using React Native and/or Flutter for iOS and Android
- Design and implement RESTful and GraphQL APIs, microservices, and cloud-native backend services
- Define Engineering Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), technical design documents, and system diagrams suitable for federal clients and internal engineering teams
- Establish and enforce engineering standards: code review process, testing coverage, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps practices
- Apply security-by-design principles throughout the software development lifecycle; integrate static analysis, vulnerability scanning, and access controls from the start
- Ensure all products meet Section 508 accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and federal security requirements (FedRAMP, ATO)
- Integrate AI capabilities into frontend and mobile products — working closely with the Lead AI Engineer on human-AI interaction patterns
- Drive multiple concurrent delivery workstreams and prioritize ruthlessly across competing client and internal demands
- Synthesize and deliver high-signal engineering feedback to iAdeptive leadership on gaps, risks, and opportunities
- Mentor engineers across the stack; codify best practices and publish reusable components and delivery playbooks
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of software engineering with 4+ years in senior full-stack roles
- Expert-level proficiency in React and TypeScript; strong Node.js or equivalent backend experience
- Proven mobile development experience: React Native and/or Flutter shipped to production
- Experience with cloud-native deployment: AWS, Azure, or GCP; containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Hands-on DevSecOps experience: CI/CD pipeline design, security scanning, automated testing, vulnerability management
- Knowledge of federal accessibility standards (Section 508 / WCAG 2.1) and security frameworks (FedRAMP, FISMA, ATO)
- Understanding of network and cloud architecture including on-premise and hybrid deployments
- Proven high-throughput operator — drives multiple concurrent projects and prioritizes ruthlessly
- Polished communicator who translates engineering decisions to senior federal stakeholders and implementation partners
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
- We offer remote flexibility, with a preference for candidates local to Maryland.
Bonus Points
- Federal contracting, government IT delivery, or public sector implementation experience
- Active security clearance or ability to obtain one (TS/SCI a significant plus)
- Founding engineer or startup experience — people who have built something from zero
- Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into frontend and mobile applications
- Experience evaluating commercial software products against federal security, privacy, and policy requirements
- Experience leading engineering teams of 3–10 engineers
