OVERVIEW OF POSITION
The HRIS Analyst is responsible for the administration, maintenance, optimization, and ongoing support of Emerald Cities Collaborative’s Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and related workforce technology platforms. This position serves as the primary administrator for HR systems and is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, security, and effective utilization of employee and organizational data across HR, payroll, benefits, performance management, learning management, and timekeeping systems.
The HRIS Analyst partners closely with Human Resources, Finance, Operations, Information Technology, and organizational leadership to support workforce data management, system implementations, reporting, compliance monitoring, process improvement initiatives, and technology-driven solutions that enhance organizational effectiveness.
This position plays a critical role in supporting a geographically dispersed workforce operating across multiple states and jurisdictions by ensuring HR systems are aligned with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and operational needs.
The position works under the direct supervision of the Director of Human Resources.

Compensation: $75,000-$85,000
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
HRIS Administration & System Management
- Serve as the primary administrator for all HR-related systems, including but not limited to ADP Run, QuickBooks Time, learning management systems, performance management platforms, benefits administration systems, and other workforce technology solutions.
- Maintain system configurations, workflows, security roles, user permissions, and organizational structures.
- Coordinate system upgrades, testing, patches, enhancements, and new feature implementation.
- Troubleshoot system issues and serve as the primary point of contact for HR system support.
- Liaise with software vendors and third-party providers regarding system functionality, service issues, and enhancements.
- Maintain system documentation, user guides, and standard operating procedures.
- Develop and maintain SharePoint-based knowledge resources, digital forms, workflow documentation, and user guides to improve employee self-service, system adoption, and operational efficiency.
Data Management & Integrity
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of employee data across all HR systems.
- Conduct regular audits of employee records, organizational structures, compensation data, benefits information, leave records, and workforce demographics.
- Identify and resolve data discrepancies and system errors.
- Develop and implement data governance practices and quality control procedures.
- Monitor compliance with data retention and recordkeeping requirements.
Reporting & Workforce Analytics
- Develop, maintain, and distribute recurring and ad hoc workforce reports and dashboards.
- Analyze workforce trends and provide recommendations to leadership.
- Assist in preparing reports for executive leadership, Board committees, auditors, funders, and regulatory agencies.
Business Process Improvement
- Evaluate HR processes to streamline and automate workflows Microsoft 365 technologies, including SharePoint, Power Automate, Microsoft Forms, and Microsoft Teams integrations.
- Design and implement automated workflows using Microsoft Power Automate and SharePoint to improve HR processes, reduce manual effort, and enhance employee experience.
- Participate in cross-functional projects involving HR, Finance, Operations, and IT.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations through accurate data management and reporting.
- Assist with audits related to payroll, benefits, leave administration, workers' compensation, EEO reporting, and other workforce compliance requirements.
- Ensure HR systems maintain appropriate confidentiality, privacy, and security standards.
- Support compliance with organizational record retention policies and applicable data privacy requirements.
Employee Lifecycle Administration
- Support onboarding, employee status changes, promotions, transfers, compensation adjustments, and offboarding activities within HR systems.
- Maintain organizational charts, reporting relationships, position records, and workforce structures.
- Coordinate employee system access and deactivation in partnership with Information Technology.
- Assist with benefits administration and payroll-related data processing as needed.
Training & User Support
- Train employees, managers, and administrators on HR systems and self-service functionality.
- Develop training materials, user resources, and reference guides.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance related to HR systems.
Other Duties
- Participate in organizational initiatives, special projects, and strategic planning efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience administering information systems platforms or workforce management systems.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- Experience developing reports and dashboards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Preferred
- Experience administering ADP Run.
- Experience supporting HR operations, payroll, benefits administration, or workforce analytics.
- Experience supporting multi-state employers.
- Experience with HR technology implementations and system integrations.
- Knowledge of HR compliance requirements and employment-related reporting.
- Experience within nonprofit, grant-funded, or mission-driven organizations.
