Job Summary

Join our dedicated team as a Direct Caregiver and become a vital part of providing compassionate, personalized care to individuals with diverse needs. In this energetic role, you will support residents in their daily activities, promote independence, and ensure a safe, comfortable environment. Your positive attitude and proactive approach will help enhance the quality of life for those you serve, making a meaningful difference every day. This paid position offers opportunities for growth and the chance to develop valuable skills in caregiving and health support.

Duties

Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using tools like Hoyer lifts when necessary
Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to track health status
Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and protocols
Provide compassionate Alzheimer’s and dementia care, employing memory care techniques to support residents’ cognitive needs
Support residents with meal preparation, feeding assistance, and ensuring nutritional needs are met
Engage residents in social activities and therapeutic programs to promote mental well-being and social interaction
Maintain a clean, safe environment through regular cleaning routines and adherence to infection control standards
Document care activities using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems accurately and promptly
Support residents’ emotional well-being through active listening, behavior management strategies, and respectful communication
Drive residents when necessary for appointments or community outings, ensuring safety at all times

Requirements

Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings preferred
Knowledge of caring for individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities is highly valued
Certifications such as First Aid and CPR are required or must be obtained upon hire
Experience with Alzheimer’s/dementia/memory care is a strong plus
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills to interact positively with residents, families, and team staff
Valid driver’s license for driving duties is preferred but not mandatory
Physical ability to lift residents safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts and perform routine caregiving tasks
