Job Summary

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Phlebotomist, where you will play a vital role in patient care by expertly collecting blood samples and processing specimens with precision and compassion. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced clinical environment, ensuring accurate laboratory testing and contributing to critical diagnostic processes. Your expertise in venipuncture, specimen handling, and patient interaction will help facilitate seamless laboratory operations and support healthcare providers in delivering exceptional patient outcomes. Responsibilities

Perform blood collection procedures including venipuncture and capillary draws with skill and care, adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols
Prepare and label specimens accurately for laboratory testing, ensuring proper processing and transportation
Assist patients by explaining procedures, providing comfort, and maintaining a caring attitude throughout the specimen collection process
Monitor patient vital signs when necessary and record relevant physiological data accurately
Maintain strict compliance with laboratory procedures, medical terminology standards, and health regulations such as Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certifications
Ensure cleanliness and organization of the phlebotomy area, following infection control protocols and maintaining an aseptic environment
Support laboratory staff by handling specimen processing tasks, including centrifugation, storage, and documentation of samples

Experience

Prior experience in medical laboratory work or clinical laboratory settings is highly preferred
Demonstrated proficiency in venipuncture, blood sampling, and specimen collection techniques
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and laboratory procedures relevant to phlebotomy
Experience working in hospital environments or healthcare facilities that require patient service skills and adherence to safety standards
Certification in Phlebotomy or related field is advantageous; Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification is required or obtainable upon hire
Ability to lift heavy loads safely when handling supplies or specimens; comfort with standing for extended periods while providing patient care
