Superior Adult Day Care is Hiring Dietary Staff!

DIETARY AIDE – DAYCARE FACILITY

Job Summary:
The Dietary Aide is responsible for assisting with the preparation, serving, and cleanup of meals and snacks for children in the daycare facility. The Dietary Aide follows established food safety, sanitation, and nutrition guidelines while ensuring that meals are served safely, on time, and in accordance with each child's dietary needs and any documented food allergies or restrictions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist with preparing and portioning meals and snacks according to approved menus and dietary guidelines.
Serve meals and snacks to children at scheduled times.
Follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, dining, and food preparation areas.
Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
Check food temperatures and maintain appropriate food safety standards.
Follow special dietary instructions, including food allergies, intolerances, and prescribed dietary restrictions.
Ensure meals are properly labeled and served to the correct children when special diets are required.
Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing food and kitchen supplies.
Monitor food supplies and report low inventory or expired products to the supervisor.
Properly dispose of food waste and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Comply with daycare facility policies, health regulations, and food safety requirements.
Report any food safety concerns, spills, accidents, or suspected allergic reactions to the appropriate supervisor immediately.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or daycare administrator.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in food service, childcare, daycare, or institutional food preparation is preferred.
Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to follow written menus, dietary instructions, and safety procedures.
Ability to work effectively around young children and maintain a patient, professional, and friendly demeanor.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine kitchen and cleaning tasks.
Must demonstrate reliability, cleanliness, good communication, and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements:
The position may require prolonged standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying food supplies and equipment, and performing repetitive kitchen and cleaning activities. The Dietary Aide must be able to safely perform these duties in a childcare food service environment.

Pay: $16.00 per hour
