Full Job Description

Job description

MT2 is currently seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to complete assigned duties on environmental construction projects on various and changing job sites across the United States. This position will operate and maintain heavy, motorized equipment used in excavation, loading, backfilling, grading and screening in a safe and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

Supervise and schedule heavy equipment operators and labor crews.
Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Available for overnight travel for projects throughout all US States. Will be Cross-Country to start.
Promotes Health and Safety by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
Operate heavy, motorized equipment used in earth moving operations, including, but not limited to excavators, dozers, loaders, screens, graders, and other equipment to support a variety of earth moving operations including excavating, grading and stockpiling.
Occasional manual labor with shovels and other ground tools
Perform regular equipment maintenance, inspection and fueling tasks.
Read and interpret maps, sketches, drawings, specifications and technical manuals.
Understand and follow oral and written instructions. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Use handheld radio for site communications.
Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
Ability to tow an enclosed equipment trailer with heavy duty pickup truck, Non-CDL.

Qualifications

Proven experience operating and supervising heavy equipment crews.
Strong knowledge of construction site safety practices.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently with little to no supervision, as well as within a team.
Availability to travel up to 100%. Must reside within an hour and a half commute from a major United States Airport.
OSHA training (10 Hour Construction Safety, 40 Hour HAZWOPER) or ability to complete employer-provided training.
Valid Driver's License with clean driving record.
Work independently in the absence of supervision.
Demonstrated effective communication skills.
Experience in the environmental field a plus including handling hazardous and non-hazardous waste, preferred.
Must be able to fluently read, write and speak English. Bilingual is a plus.
Willing to fly with commercial airlines. Willing to drive up to 11 hours per day.
Mechanical skill set preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
