SUMMARY
To maintain and to improve the reliability of existing plant equipment by utilizing standard Instrument and Electrical work skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain and repair plant electrical and instrumentation as required. Systems include pneumatic and electronic controllers, PLC systems, recorders, indicators, control valves, flow control equipment, etc. Service electrical equipment including variable frequency drives, motors, transformers, etc. Prepare bills-of materials required for repairs and small projects. Route conduit to new controls or motors as required. Perform the full range of maintenance related tasks consistent with skill and ability. Maintain a safe and reliable work attitude and environment. Maintain a clean work environment. Troubleshoot problem areas to improve overall plant reliability Maintain work records and documentation to provide continuity for all future repairs. Seek to improve training in skills required for the position. Develop a working knowledge of RCRA regulations. Other duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; Associates Degree in Electrical Technology and/or Journeyman Electrician Certification is required. Six months related experience and/or training.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have valid driver's license. Forklift Operator Certification
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Instrument & Electrical Technician Revision #2
PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve problems involving several variables in non-standardized situations.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Periodic weekend, evening and callout coverage required. Acquired basic electricity principles knowledge. Able to read and understand electrical wiring diagrams and schematics. Basic computer knowledge.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs, ladders and balance; work in extensive personal protective equipment; talk and hear; walk on elevated, grated surfaces; work at elevated heights; and wear a respirator for prolonged periods. The employee must regularly lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color distinction, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme cold and extreme heat; regularly works in high places and regularly works with hazardous chemicals. The noise level in the work environment may require hearing protection.
