Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Hibachi Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. In this role, you will be the centerpiece of our dining experience, showcasing your flair for entertaining guests while expertly preparing a variety of Japanese-inspired dishes on the hibachi grill. Your energetic approach and culinary expertise will create memorable moments for our guests, blending high-volume food production with exceptional presentation and safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to demonstrate your culinary artistry in a lively, fast-paced environment dedicated to fine dining excellence.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a diverse range of hibachi-style dishes, including meats, seafood, vegetables, and rice, adhering strictly to recipe specifications and presentation standards
Operate and maintain all kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, knives, and other culinary tools
Engage with guests through lively cooking demonstrations, ensuring an entertaining and memorable dining experience
Follow food safety protocols meticulously, including sanitizing procedures and proper food handling techniques to ensure health standards are met
Assist in menu planning by suggesting new dishes or variations based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
Maintain high-volume food production while managing multiple orders simultaneously in a fast-paced setting
Support the dietary department by understanding dietary restrictions and preparing meals that meet specific dietary needs

Requirements

Proven experience as a hibachi chef or in a similar high-volume restaurant environment with a focus on Japanese cuisine or fine dining settings
Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques such as grilling, braising, poaching, and food preparation methods
Demonstrated ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently within a busy restaurant atmosphere
Extensive food safety knowledge, including sanitizing procedures and food handling regulations
Experience in menu planning, meal preparation, and food production processes
Background in catering or serving in high-volume food service environments preferred
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage guests while maintaining professionalism
Culinary experience with an emphasis on food safety management and recipe adherence is highly desirable
