Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Cook/Dietary Aide to join our team and support the dietary department in delivering nutritious, appealing meals to our residents. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service, a strong understanding of food safety standards, and a passion for contributing to a caring environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills while ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and food handling.

Responsibilities

Assist in meal preparation and food service, following established recipes and portion guidelines.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently during food production.
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, utensils, and dining spaces in accordance with sanitation standards.
Support menu planning by preparing ingredients and assisting with presentation.
Follow food safety protocols during handling, storage, and serving of all food items.
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal delivery and address dietary needs.
Contribute to a positive team environment by adhering to safety standards and supporting team members.

Qualifications

Previous experience in dietary services, food preparation, or related roles within the food industry or restaurant environment is appreciated but not required.
Knowledge of food safety and proper food handling techniques.
Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment and culinary tools.
Ability to follow recipes accurately and adhere to dietary restrictions and special diets.
Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork with kitchen staff.
