Full Job Description

The Paddington Family of Stores is seeking a hard working, experienced and motivated individual with a cheerful personalities and an eagerness to learn.

The Paddington Family of Stores consists of three unique shops within a one block area in downtown Ashland. We are nationally recognized as leaders in the gift industry.

This full time (40 hours a week) position oversees the freight receiving process. This role provides support to the buying and display teams. This position entails receiving clerk duties, inventory management, and occasional sales associate duties, among other tasks. This role reports to the General Manager.

Daily responsibilities consist of:

Oversees supply ordering.
Oversees Receiving Department, including logging and assessing incoming daily freight from UPS, FedEx, USPS and LTL freight companies.
Track the order of priority, storage of product and receiving paperwork and issues.
Oversees recycling initiatives for plastic, peanuts and bubble wrap.
Oversees active receiving claims, filing paperwork, invoice matching, FedEx, UPS, US Postal and Freight/Truck accounts, as well as call tags and returns.
Organizing and moves incoming pallet shipments.
Oversees receiving staff for accuracy and ticketing.
Communicate with managers/buyers and display team about new arrivals or delivery delays.
Addresses issues related to pricing, overages, shortages and outline on trouble reports and assists in resolution of damaged merchandise or issues with orders.
Keeping receiving area and both "runner" storage areas neat and clean.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervises the Receiving Department employees.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Good math skills.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at time stressful environment.
Proficient with Google Workspace apps.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Ability to bend, twist, reach, push, pull and perform repetitive motions.
Ability to stand or walk for up to 2 hours in a row.
Ability to move merchandise with cards, dollies, and hand trucks, etc.
Ability to assemble new display fixtures.
Ability to transport display fixtures to/from any of our locations.
Ability to maneuver stairs.

Education and Experience:

Two + years related experience preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent.
