Blue Marble is seeking an innovative, business-focused Director of Information Technology to lead enterprise technology strategy and advance the systems, infrastructure, and capabilities that support business growth. This role provides strategic leadership for enterprise applications, systems integration, data and business intelligence, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and digital transformation. Working closely with leaders across the organization, the Director of Information Technology will modernize technology, strengthen security, leverage practical AI and automation, and build a scalable IT organization to improve productivity, decision-making, and the customer experience.
What You’ll Do
Technology Strategy & Leadership
- Assess Blue Marble's technology environment, systems, infrastructure, vendors, risks, and business needs.
- Develop and execute an enterprise technology strategy and roadmap aligned with business objectives.
- Establish technology governance, architecture standards, project prioritization, and decision-making processes.
- Balance long-term technology investments with operational priorities and available resources.
- Simplify the technology environment by improving reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Develop the technology operating model, organizational structure, resource plans, and budget.
Enterprise Applications & Business Systems·
- Lead the strategy, implementation, optimization, and lifecycle management of enterprise applications.
- Own the enterprise application portfolio, including ERP, PLM, PIM, CRM, HRIS, Microsoft 365, warehouse, customer service, and collaboration platforms.
- Partner with business leaders to improve processes through technology.·
- Develop application roadmaps and evaluate new solutions based on business value and scalability.·
- Establish application governance, configuration standards, and user adoption practices.· Manage application vendors, licensing, contracts, and support.·
- Ensure enterprise applications remain secure, integrated, scalable, and well supported. Technology Portfolio & Governance
- Manage the enterprise technology portfolio and project prioritization.
- Develop business cases and ROI analyses for major technology investments.
- Lead executive technology governance and capital planning.
- Balance business priorities with technology resources and budgets.
- Communicate project status, risks, and investment priorities to leadership.
Systems Architecture & Integrations
- Develop an enterprise architecture supporting secure, scalable, and reliable operations.
- Establish integration standards across ERP, PLM, PIM, CRM, HRIS, Microsoft 365, warehouse, retailer, supplier, and manufacturing systems.
- Oversee APIs, middleware, interfaces, and third-party integrations.
- Improve interoperability while reducing manual processes and duplicate data.
- Maintain documentation for critical systems, integrations, and support ownership.
- Partner with Analytics to support enterprise reporting and data availability.
Data Intelligence
- Partner with Analytics to support enterprise reporting and business intelligence.
- Develop technology platforms supporting analytics and data management.
- Ensure enterprise data is secure, accurate, and accessible.
Business Automation & AI
- Implement automation solutions that improve operational efficiency.
- Evaluate and deploy practical AI solutions that enhance productivity and customer experience.
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive business processes.
- Improve enterprise knowledge management and search capabilities.
- Establish AI governance and partner with Analytics to ensure trusted data.
Digital Platforms
- Oversee technology supporting websites, eCommerce, customer portals, mobile platforms, and digital experiences.
- Partner with business leaders to define digital platform requirements.
- Ensure digital platforms remain secure, reliable, scalable, and high-performing.
- Manage digital technology vendors and development partners.
- Evaluate new digital capabilities based on business value and customer needs.
Cybersecurity & Infrastructure
- Lead a risk-based cybersecurity and infrastructure program.
- Establish security policies, standards, and controls protecting enterprise systems and data.
- Oversee identity management, endpoint security, monitoring, backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
- Conduct technology risk assessments and coordinate remediation activities.
- Manage cybersecurity vendors, audits, insurance, and compliance requirements.
- Lead incident response planning and executive reporting on technology risks.
- Promote organization-wide cybersecurity awareness.
Team Leadership
- Assess organizational capabilities and develop the technology function.
- Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing IT team.
- Build capabilities across enterprise applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and business systems.
- Manage technology vendors and strategic partners.
- Foster a collaborative, customer-focused culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
What You Bring
Must Haves:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- 8+ years of progressive technology leadership experience.
- 3+ years leading software engineering or technology teams.
- Demonstrated experience building scalable technology platforms from concept through implementation.
- Extensive API development and systems integration experience.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and modern application development.
- Strong knowledge of database architecture and data management.
- Experience implementing cybersecurity frameworks and security best practices.
- Proven leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Nice to Haves:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, MBA, or related field.
- Experience in eCommerce, educational technology, SaaS, manufacturing, or consumer products.
- Experience with ERP, CRM, LMS, HRIS, and cloud-based enterprise applications.
- Experience designing enterprise software architecture.
- Knowledge of AI, machine learning, automation, and intelligent workflow technologies.
- Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) or cybersecurity certifications (CISSP, CISM, Security+).
