Salary: $90k - 120k per year

job summary:

Industry leader seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to design, develop, and optimize industrial steel pallet racking systems and integrated storage solutions. You should have experience designing racking systems or automated storage retrieval systems (AS/RS). Financially strong company with a great culture of growth and integrity. responsibilities:

Create and refine detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings for uprights, beams, and specialized racking components using design software

Perform basic structural analysis and load capacity calculations to ensure racking configurations meet seismic and weight-load requirements

Collaborate with the production team to optimize designs for various manufacturing processes to reduce scrap and lead times

Develop and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering change notices (ECNs)

Iterate designs based on load testing performance data and failure analysis

requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field; equivalent experience to be considered

Required: experience designing steel pallet racking systems or automated storage retrieval system (AS/RS)

Knowledge of RMI (Rack Manufacturers Institute) or AISI standards for cold-formed steel design highly preferred

Advanced experience with 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and 2D drafting. Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software is a plus
