Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our legal team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support a diverse range of legal practice areas, including estate planning, criminal law, family law, civil litigation, and more. As a key member of our team, you will provide essential legal support, manage case files, conduct research, and assist with client communications. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and passionate about delivering high-quality legal support in a fast-paced environment. This paid position is designed to foster professional growth while contributing to impactful legal work.

Responsibilities

Assist attorneys with drafting, reviewing, and editing legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, and correspondence using Word processing and document management systems.
Manage case files efficiently by organizing documents, maintaining electronic and physical filing systems, and ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information.
Support litigation processes through document review, preparation of discovery materials, and coordination of civil litigation activities.
Communicate effectively with clients via phone and email to gather information, provide updates, and schedule interviews or meetings.
Assist with project management tasks such as tracking deadlines, court filings, and procedural requirements to ensure timely case progression.
Perform administrative duties including data entry, proofreading legal documents, transcription work, and handling general clerical responsibilities to support daily office operations.

Experience

Prior paralegal experience or legal administrative support within a law office environment is highly preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of procedural law across multiple jurisdictions and familiarity with legal case management software.
Experience supporting cases in estate planning, criminal law, family law, civil litigation, or related fields is desirable.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
Effective client communication skills combined with professional phone etiquette and confidentiality awareness.
