Department Summary
Supervise the daily operations of Baker University Center, Walter Hall Rotunda, and Galbreath Chapel.
Oversee the customer service elements of Event Services student staff and ensure that the student staff monitors the successful implementation of all meetings, conferences, and special events hosted in Event Services facilities.
Oversee the daily operation, scheduling, and training of the Event Services Ticket Office and Usher staff.
Conduct trainings, track compliance with departmental practices, implement accountability tracking, identify staff for promotion and advancement.
Ensure compliance with all financial practices, trainings, and ticket sale deposits.
Serve as House Manager for university wide events such as Commencement, New Student Convocation, HCOM White Coat, etc.
Coordinate all volunteer and student staff training, planning and relocation of supplies to support front facing operations.
This individual must be able to work smoothly in a fast-paced event environment with frequent interruptions and have a high level of emotional intelligence.
Position Profile
Plans and organizes campus events. Manages logistics such as facilities, tickets, concessions, caterers, vendors, event communications, and technical support for events. Works with speakers, vendors, and staff to ensure successful event execution. Manages communications across the event team, providing smooth and seamless event experiences.
Level Summary
Provides professional expertise to the University community. Serves as a resource and guide to others in the department and/or university. Completes operational tasks essential for the daily functioning of the University. Additionally, contributes to larger projects or initiatives that align with department or University goals, often collaborating across teams.
Supervisory Responsibilities
May assist in mentoring or training new employees.
Fiscal Responsibilities
No budgetary responsibility. May be responsible for validating transactions.
Problem Solving
Handles a variety of problems with some independence.
Independence of Action
Some supervision; able to work independently on routine tasks.
Communication and Collaboration
Collaborates with team members and shares knowledge.
Physical Requirements
This job requires travel between event spaces to oversee events and student employee management. This role also has desk-based elements and involves use of desktop computers and other desk-based technology.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3-5 years of related professional experience, or equivalent education and experience.

Pay Rate

Work Schedule
This work schedule for this position is generally between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm Monday through Friday. Frequent early, late, and weekend hours will be based on scheduled event requirements. This is primarily an in-person position based on the Athens campus.
