Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate fulll time Medical Assistant to join our family oriented Medical Practice. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care and support the providers as they oversee patients. Your expertise will help ensure smooth clinic workflows, accurate medical documentation, and a positive patient experience. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

Responsibilities

Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature.
Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are ready for patient visits.
Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy (blood draws), medication administration, and basic life support procedures when needed.
Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accurate documentation of patient encounters, medical histories, and treatment plans.
Support medical office management by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and maintaining medical records in compliance with privacy regulations.
Facilitate communication between patients and providers by answering questions, providing instructions on medication use, and coordinating follow-up care.
Assisting with procedures when needed. Keeping up with prior authorizations for prescriptions and for out going specialty appointments.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar clinical support role within outpatient or hospital settings.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, ICD coding, and medical documentation standards.
Experience working with EMR/EHR systems and managing electronic health records efficiently.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; certifications in medical assisting preferred but not required.
Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately across diverse populations.
Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments requiring quick thinking and adaptability.
