Full Job Description

Overview

Join our vibrant team as a Host/ Food Runner, where your energy and hospitality skills will create memorable dining experiences for our guests. In this dynamic role, you will be the welcoming face of our restaurant, ensuring guests feel valued from the moment they arrive. You’ll coordinate reservations, manage guest seating, and deliver exceptional service by efficiently running food from the kitchen to tables. Your enthusiasm and organizational skills will help maintain a smooth flow of service, fostering a lively and inviting atmosphere for all patrons.

Duties

Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage restaurant reservation systems to optimize seating arrangements
Coordinate guest seating using restaurant table management systems, ensuring efficient flow during busy hours
Answer phone inquiries with professionalism, providing accurate information about reservations and wait times while demonstrating excellent phone etiquette
Assist servers by delivering food promptly and accurately from the kitchen to tables, maintaining food safety standards throughout
Support host/ess duties by managing waitlists, monitoring table turnover, and communicating effectively with team members to ensure seamless service
Maintain cleanliness and organization of host stand and dining areas to uphold high standards of guest service and hospitality
Use POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS to process orders or assist with guest payments when needed

Qualifications

Previous experience as a host/hostess or food runner in a fast-paced restaurant environment preferred
Strong customer service skills with a friendly, energetic demeanor
Excellent communication skills, including phone communication and guest relations
Familiarity with restaurant reservation management and table management systems
Basic math skills for handling POS transactions and order accuracy
Knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures
Ability to stay organized, multitask effectively, and work efficiently under pressure
Hospitality experience is a plus; a genuine passion for guest services is essential
