Full Job Description

SecurNation is seeking an experienced, results-driven Director of Security to lead security operations for a large, high-profile commercial property in Atlanta.

This is a unique opportunity for a proven security executive who excels in fast-paced environments, builds high-performing teams, and develops strong partnerships with property management while ensuring exceptional service and operational excellence.

This is an executive leadership position responsible for a 24/7 security operation. Success requires a highly engaged leader who is visible, responsive, and committed to supporting both the client, engineers and the security team whenever operational needs arise.

This is not a traditional Monday through Friday, 9-to-5 management position. The Director of Security is expected to lead from the front, maintain a visible presence on the property, support supervisors, respond to critical incidents, communicate regularly with property management, and ensure seamless security operations around the clock.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership for all daily security operations across a large commercial property.
Direct and develop supervisors and a security team of 30+ personnel.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with property management through consistent communication and proactive problem-solving.
Oversee staffing, scheduling, performance management, training, compliance, and employee development.
Manage operating budgets, monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), prepare client reports, and present operational updates to senior leadership.
Lead security operations during major events, emergencies, tenant activities, and high-volume periods.
Respond to significant incidents and provide decisive leadership during critical situations.
Conduct operational audits, site inspections, and security assessments to improve overall performance.
Ensure all policies, post orders, and company standards are consistently followed.
Promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and outstanding customer service.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 7 years of progressive security management experience.
Proven experience managing security operations for a large commercial property, Class A office complex, mixed-use development, airport, hospital, stadium, convention center, or similarly complex environment.
Proven experience managing security teams of 30 or more personnel.
Demonstrated experience leading multiple supervisors and large operational teams.
Extensive experience supporting large-scale events and high-traffic facilities.
Strong experience partnering directly with property management, building ownership, and executive stakeholders.
Experience managing operating budgets, tracking KPIs, preparing client reports, and presenting operational performance to senior leadership.
Exceptional leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
Strong understanding of security operations, emergency response, staffing, scheduling, compliance, and customer service.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with WINTeam workforce management software and Avigilon video and access control management systems is a strong plus.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Schedule & Availability

This leadership position requires flexibility and commitment to supporting a 24/7 security operation.

Candidates must be willing to:

Work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as operational needs require.
Serve in an on-call leadership capacity.
Respond to emergencies, major incidents, and special events outside of normal business hours.
Adjust work schedules as needed to provide effective operational oversight.
Maintain a visible leadership presence while supporting supervisors, security personnel, and property management.
