Full Job Description

Do you have at least 3 years of IT service desk, help desk, or desktop support experience supporting end users?

Are you able to work onsite in the NW Atlanta area and participate in an occasional after-hours on-call rotation?

Service Desk Analyst

About the Opportunity

Focus People is recruiting for an experienced Service Desk Analyst II to join a growing IT services organization in the Atlanta area.

This is an onsite Level 2 support position for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, working directly with customers, and taking ownership of technical issues from initial contact through resolution.

The strongest candidates will have prior Managed Service Provider experience and be comfortable supporting multiple customer environments throughout the day.

We are looking for a true Level 2 technician, although candidates with strong Level 1.5 experience who are ready to take the next step will also be considered.

Salary: $60,000 depending on experience, education, certifications, and MSP background.

What You'll Do

Provide remote technical support to end users by phone, email, and ticketing system
Troubleshoot Level 1 and Level 2 desktop and application issues
Support Microsoft Outlook, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, Remote Desktop, printers, internet connectivity, and other common business applications
Support Windows 10 and Windows 11 environments
Assist with Microsoft 365 administration and user support
Troubleshoot macOS software, account setup, peripherals, and application issues
Handle new-user onboarding and existing-user offboarding
Create, document, update, and manage support tickets from initial contact through resolution
Escalate more complex technical issues to engineering or other technical teams using a warm handoff
Follow up with users and internal team members to keep tickets moving toward resolution
Review open tickets, identify cases ready for closure, and schedule appropriate follow-up
Maintain a consistent ticket closure volume while protecting service quality and customer satisfaction
Maintain accurate customer and technical documentation
Create and update knowledge-base articles based on solutions identified during support cases
Work with senior technicians and engineering team members to build technical skills and assist with more complex issues
Continue developing technical knowledge through training and certifications

What We're Looking For

Required

3+ years of IT service desk, help desk, desktop support, or similar technical support experience
1+ year of Managed Service Provider experience
3+ years of customer service experience communicating by phone and email
Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration
Strong knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11
Experience supporting Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams
Experience working within a service desk ticketing or PSA system
General understanding of networking concepts and devices, including switches and firewalls
General macOS troubleshooting and support knowledge
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Patient, professional, and empathetic approach to customer support
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to manage multiple tickets and priorities at the same time
Ability to participate in an after-hours on-call rotation
Associate degree, bachelor's degree, or degree currently in progress

What Makes Someone Successful Here

This role is a good fit for someone who can troubleshoot without losing sight of the person on the other end of the ticket.

You should be comfortable asking good questions, explaining technical issues in plain language, documenting your work, and knowing when to solve an issue yourself versus when to escalate it.

Because this is an MSP environment, you'll also need to be comfortable switching between different customers, systems, priorities, and technical environments throughout the day.
