Full Job Description

No Nights and Weekends.

As a part-time administrative assistant and assistant teacher at The Primrose School of Roswell East, you will spend the mornings in classrooms assisting young minds to explore and discover. In the afternoons, you will be working with the leadership team to help run the front office and help with parent pick-up times.

The ideal candidate for this position would be energetic, creative, and passionate about working with children. We are accepting applications from high school seniors and college students seeking an opportunity to obtain valuable working experience.

Primrose School of Roswell East is an accredited private preschool providing premier educational childcare experience. We offer year-round programs for children from infant through elementary-aged school age.

Primary Responsibilities:

Is responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a group of children.
Perform light administrative tasks, including filing and organizing.
Utilize microsoft suite and Procare applications to assist with parent and student communications.
Substitutes as a teacher for classrooms as needed.
Observes all rules and regulations at Primrose School of Roswell East and the local, state regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety and care of children.
Implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum and programming.
Maintains an attractive, school campus that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence.
Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior.
Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common-use areas and playgrounds.
Maintains overall professional personal appearance adhering to the guidelines offered in the Primrose School of Roswell East Employee Handbook
Assists in other capacities that Director, or designee, determines is necessary.

Desired skills and experience:

Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency
Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of young children
Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations. For Infant and Young Toddler teachers, must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
