Position Summary

Georgia Statewide Travel Safety Representative.

The Full-Time Safety Representative is responsible for promoting and enforcing a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment for all employees of the electrical contracting firm. This position serves as a liaison between management, the union, employees, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and collective bargaining agreements. The Safety Representative plays a critical role in reducing workplace hazards, preventing injuries, and fostering a strong safety culture on all job sites.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Monitor and enforce compliance with OSHA standards, NFPA 70E, and company safety policies
Conduct regular job site safety inspections and audits
Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, and near-miss incidents
Participate in safety planning, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and pre-task planning meetings
Work collaboratively with management, foremen, and union representatives
Coordinate safety training, toolbox talks, and certifications
Maintain accurate safety records and documentation
Assist with OSHA inspections and regulatory follow-up
Promote continuous improvement of the company safety program

Qualifications

Journeyman Electrician status preferred
Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction safety standards
Ability to communicate effectively with union members and management
Strong organizational and documentation skills
Ability to travel statewide and work full-time

Preferred Certifications

OSHA 30-Hour Construction
NFPA 70E Electrical Safety
First Aid / CPR / AED
OSHA Authorized Trainer (preferred, not required)

Work Schedule

Full-time position with variable hours based on project needs

Physical Requirements

Ability to access active construction sites, climb, lift up to 50 lbs.,

and work in varying weather conditions
