Live-In Private Duty Nurse

Location: Roslyn Heights, NY (primary residence), with seasonal travel to Greenwich, CT and Florida Schedule: 24/7 live-in position Compensation: $180,000–$200,000 annually Private accommodations provided

Overview

A distinguished couple in Roslyn Heights is seeking an exceptional live-in nurse to join their household. The husband, age 90, is currently in good health and independent. This role is being established proactively to build a trusted, long-term relationship now, so that continuity of care is already in place should health needs arise in the future.

This is as much a companionship and household-integration role today as it is a clinical one. The right person is warm, engaging, and genuinely enjoyable to spend time with, while carrying the credentials and judgment to step seamlessly into a more medical capacity when needed.

Responsibilities

Companionship and daily engagement

Provide steady, personable companionship and meaningful daily interaction
Engage in thoughtful, intelligent conversation
Accompany the couple on outings, appointments, and travel between residences
Foster a comfortable, respectful, and positive presence in the home

Support with daily living

Assist with activities of daily living as needed, with dignity and discretion
Support mobility, personal care, and household routines
Coordinate schedules, appointments, and reminders
Help maintain a safe living environment and monitor for changes in wellbeing

Medical and clinical care

Monitor overall health status and recognize early signs of concern
Manage medications, vitals, and adherence to any care plans
Coordinate with physicians, specialists, and other providers
Provide skilled nursing care as health needs develop over time
Maintain accurate health records and communicate clearly with family

Travel

Travel with the couple seasonally between Roslyn Heights, Greenwich, and Florida
Maintain consistent care and companionship across all residences

Qualifications

Excellent interpersonal skills and a genuinely personable, engaging manner
Strong conversational ability and intellectual curiosity
Sound clinical judgment and the ability to work independently
Discretion, reliability, and respect for privacy
Flexibility to live in and travel between multiple homes
Clean background check and verifiable references
