Overview

Join our dynamic team as an English Copy Editor, where your passion for language and storytelling will elevate our content across multiple platforms. In this role, you will meticulously refine written materials, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and adherence to style guidelines. Your expertise will help craft compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences while maintaining journalistic integrity and engaging storytelling. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in digital journalism, social media content, and multimedia editing within a vibrant media environment.

Duties

Edit and proofread articles, news stories, scripts, and social media content to ensure grammatical accuracy, clarity, and consistency according to AP style guidelines.
Fact-check information to uphold journalistic integrity and accuracy across all published materials.
Collaborate with writers, videographers, and social media managers to refine content for various digital platforms.
Edit video scripts and assist in video content production by ensuring scripts are clear, engaging, and aligned with brand voice.
Support the creation of social media posts by editing captions, headlines, and multimedia descriptions for maximum engagement.
Conduct research on current events or topics to enhance story depth and credibility.
Review broadcast journalism scripts and assist in television broadcast editing to ensure seamless storytelling.

Experience

Proven experience in digital journalism or broadcast journalism with a strong portfolio of published articles or multimedia projects.
Demonstrated expertise in copy editing, proofreading, and fact-checking across diverse content types.
Familiarity with social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn for content management and engagement strategies.
Experience in video production including videography, video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro), and storyboarding is highly desirable.
Knowledge of photography principles and video content production techniques to support multimedia storytelling efforts.
Strong written communication skills with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences and platforms.
Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards in editing and content creation.
Bilingual skills are a plus but not required; excellent research skills and journalistic writing experience are essential.
