Job Summary

The Neurodiagnostic Technologist I prepares patients for various neurodiagnostic procedures. This position collects patient information pertinent to the interpretation of the tests and determines proper procedures for testing. The position performs age-appropriate activities and utilizes a variety of neurodiagnostic equipment such as electroencephalograms (EEG).

Key Responsibilities:

Attach electrodes to patients using adhesives and ensure proper placement.
Conduct tests such as electroencephalograms (EEG), evoked potentials (EP), nerve conduction studies (NCS) and/or Electromyography studies (EMG).
Monitor patients during tests, ensuring their comfort and safety.
Calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair equipment as needed.
Collect and summarize technical data for physician review.
Explain testing procedures to patients and address any questions or concerns.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
Assist in training new technicians and other staff members.

Qualifications:

Associate degree in neurodiagnostic technology or related field.
Certification by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic, Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET), and/or Registration of Nerve Conduction Study Technologist (AAET ) preferred.
Basic knowledge of neurodiagnostic procedures and equipment.
Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
