Summary of Job Function:

The Field Service Engineer provides project management and field support for end users to ensure the stable operation of customer-purchased lighting control products (hardware and software). This includes overseeing installation, programming, supporting, and optimizing all products. In this role you will travel to job sites primarily in the Southeastern United States based out of your home in the greater Atlanta area.

This role will interface directly with customers, and various levels of management in an effort to manage, install and/or resolve system software and hardware failures, product performance issues, and user quality improvements.

Essential Responsibilities:

· Define project tasks and resource requirements

· Manage project resource allocation

· Provide direction and support to the project team

· Constantly monitor and report on the progress of the project to all stakeholders

· Present reports defining project progress, problems, and solutions

· Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs

· Project evaluations and assessment of results

· Track project deliverables using appropriate tools

· Troubleshoot and repair commercial systems

· Identify and analyze product failures

· Provides product feedback/customer suggestions to lighting control manufacturer as needed

· Coordinate with on-site contractors and facility managers to plan the layout of equipment

· Work independently

· Maintain and repair products

· Install or oversee the installation of products according to the manufacturer’s specifications

· Instructs and directs workers in servicing and repairing equipment

· Interprets maintenance/installation manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams

· Consults with manufacturer’s engineers to resolve unusual problems

· Advise management regarding product performance and customer satisfaction

· Prepare concise and timely written reports, including maintenance reports, required checklists, acknowledgments, and expense reports

· Able to work in a team environment

· Project Management Skills

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge/Skills

· 2 or 4 year college degree, technical school degree, or military training

· 2 to 5 years of electro-mechanical or related service fields

· Electrical wiring experience required

· Practical knowledge of lighting systems

· Project management skills required

· Ability to think through complex situations

· Possess excellent troubleshooting skills

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Excellent organizational skills

· Ability to work as part of a team

· Ability to travel 50-75% of the time

· Valid Driver’s License

Education and Experience:

· A college degree

· Knowledge of business and management principles

· Computer skills and knowledge of office software packages

· Network/ IT background preferred

· Field service experience
