Full Job Description

Responsible for providing behavioral modification skills education and training to children/youth and their families in areas of communication skills, healthy socialization skills, anger management, stress management, problem solving, crisis intervention, environmental safety, resource identification and client advocacy.

Duties:

Weekly home or school/community contacts hours with assigned case load.
Perform weekly direct contact with identified case load for the purpose of teaching budgeting skills, communication skills, socialization skills, anger management, conflict resolution, relationship building. emotional regulation, safety.
Educate child/youth and their families on community resources linkage skills (i.e., Housing, Social Support, Community Involvement, Financial, Healthcare, Transportation, Independent living skills .)
Responsible for coordination and arranging schedules for transportation services for children/youth and or family members for therapy appointments, health care appointments etc. on assigned case load.
Transport children/youth, family members to approved outings for the purpose of enhancing family connectedness and /or reunification.
Available for several hours during days, afternoons, evening shifts
Participate in the completion of behavioral plans and safety plans for new cases within 5-7 days of case being assigned.
Participate in weekly client chart reviews to ensure utilization guidelines and internal audit quality improvement measures are being met.

Job Requirements:

1. Demonstrates understanding of the Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS) and assists clients in identifying, securing, and sustaining a range of resources needed to facilitate family independence.

2. Must have a Bachelors Degree in the human services field ( i.e., Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or 10 years of work experience in the Human Services field following High School.

3-5 years work experience in applying behavioral modification with children and adolescents. Knowledgeable of skills training, and education.
Knowledge of the DSM-V TR diagnosis in children/youth
Knowledge of crisis management interventions, intensive case management, and other rehabilitation supports preferred for at-risk children and youth.
Knowledge of the BIRP Progress note standard documentation.
Knowledge of writing behavior modification plans Preferred
Group psychoeducation experience a Plus
Group Home or Residential Treatment facility experience a Plus.
Good organizational skills
Knowledge of substance abuse addiction issues among children and adolescents a Plus
Good verbal and written communication skills, also excellent interpersonal skills and team player concepts.

Pay: $15.50 - $25.00 per hour
