What You’ll Do

As a Patient Care Technician in Inpatient Services, you will provide compassionate, hands-on support to patients while assisting the nursing team in delivering high-quality care. You’ll play a key role in helping patients with daily activities and ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. In this role, you will:

Provide basic patient care under the direction of an RN or LPN, following established policies and procedures.
Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, ambulation, feeding, toileting, and repositioning.
Respond promptly to call lights and ensure patient needs are met in a timely and respectful manner.
Support patient safety by following infection control practices, including proper hand hygiene and isolation protocols.
Observe and report any changes in patient condition to the primary nurse.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient care environment.
Adapt to changing patient needs, staffing levels, and patient acuity, including floating to other areas when needed.
Collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to provide comprehensive, compassionate care.
Deliver excellent customer service using AIDET, hourly rounding, bedside communication, and other patient experience best practices.
Document care accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR).
Participate in ongoing education and complete required competencies to maintain and grow skills.
Support orientation and training of new staff or students as needed.
Promote a positive team environment through respectful communication and collaboration.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a compassionate, reliable individual who is dedicated to patient care and thrives in a team oriented environment. The ideal candidate is attentive, communicative, and committed to delivering a positive patient experience.

Required Education

Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program or
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or
Completion of an Emergency Medical Care Provider program

Required Licenses & Certifications

Certification as a CNA, Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Care Provider

Preferred Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS)

Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to recognize and report changes in patient condition
Commitment to patient safety and quality care
Ability to manage multiple tasks and respond to changing priorities
Professionalism, reliability, and a positive attitude
