Schedule: Full-time, depends on events. Lost of nights and weekends.
Pay: $55,000-60,000
Must be a self-starter, internally motivated, and have 3-5 years experience.
Overview: The Catering/Events Manager is responsible for executing all events (member and non-member). This includes overseeing and scheduling all functions staff, layout planning, inquiry intake, and working through the event plan with the member or customer. Strong hospitality, culinary and service leadership, is required.
Job Duties:
· Act as the primary point-of-contact for all event inquiries.
· Plan, coordinate, and execute events. Provide oversight for smaller events.
· Establish standards for personnel performance and customer service.
· Maintain beverage and equipment inventories and keep inventory records.
· Monitor budgets and payroll records and review financial transactions to ensure that expenditures are authorized and budgeted.
· Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and BEO meetings.
· Coordinate and support marketing efforts with Communications Coordinator to ensure timely, accurate, and appropriate messages delivered to members.
· Coordinate and source vendors, plan room setup, execute billing, and post-event follow-ups.
· Organize and direct worker training programs, resolve personnel problems, hire new staff, and evaluate employee performance in functions.
· Monitor compliance with health and fire regulations.
· Review and update catering menus with the Executive Chef.
· Monitor employee and patron activities to ensure liquor regulations are obeyed.
· Estimate liquor, wine, and other beverage consumption to anticipate amounts to be purchased or requisitioned.
· Adhere to all The Woodlands Club policies and procedures.
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or other related field, required.
· CMAA involvement, a plus!
· At least level 1 Sommelier experience, a plus!.
· 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience.
· 3-5 years fine dining or Country Club experience, a must.
· Strong organizational skills, communication skills, and time management skills.
· Ability to bend, stand, lift, pull, and work overhead.
