Full Job Description

Generate Upcycle is looking for a Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our team in Auburn, NY!

The Industrial Maintenance Technician will perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance for operations and equipment. Operational support of anaerobic digesters, renewable gas systems, facilities maintenance, road repair, snow plowing (ground, building and equipment maintenance). You will be a critical member of our team, and your work will be imperative to the day-to-day operations and overall successful growth of the business.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Proactively identify equipment in need of repair and aim to efficiently complete the work the first time
Troubleshoot and repair conveyors, pumps, and other industrial machinery
Troubleshoot and repair 4-20mA and 120 to 460 VAC, electrical equipment and instrumentation
Utilize SCADA/HMI systems to determine system health and troubleshooting
Facilitate timely execution and effectiveness of preventative maintenance program
Plan repairs utilizing blueprints, equipment manuals, wiring diagrams and electrical schematics
Utilize Maintenance Management Software to its fullest extent
Accomplish scheduled work in an effective and timely manner
Research and order parts and supplies, and maintains accurate inventory in a timely manner
Able to temporarily repair equipment when parts not available
Follow company policies and safety standards
Procure and test samples as needed
Candidate will be trained to become competent to assist Operations as needed
Available and Flexible to work after hours and weekend on-call shifts
Train peers and Operators
Keep workplace clean and organized
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Education/Licenses/Certifications:

High School diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Experience:

Five (5) years' experience working with a variety of machinery in an industrial environment
Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic & hydraulic operations, troubleshooting & repairs experience required
Motors, gear boxes, pumps, conveyors and compressors experience preferred, including instrumentation
Experience operating forklifts and other powered industrial equipment
Knowledge of federal, state, and local job site health and safety rules, regulations and best practices

Skills & Abilities:

Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to be a team-player for overall company success

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm with overtime as needed

Work Environment

Normal work environment will be a combination of outdoors and indoors, in a large range of austere weather conditions. Exposure to all smells/odors, dirt, high levels of noise, and at times exposure to dangerous gases requiring necessary precautions, including PPE.

Physical Requirements:

Reach (including above the head), bend, climb, push, pull twist, squat, and kneel
Ability to work in awkward spaces and climb ladders
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
