Brief Description of Duties:
The Syracuse Educational Opportunity Center (SEOC) is seeking an Adjunct Construction Instructor to provide hands-on and classroom instruction to adult learners preparing for careers in the construction industry. The instructor will deliver practical, project-based training that develops foundational construction skills and workplace readiness.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Deliver engaging instruction in fundamental construction topics, including (based on program structure) including: Basic carpentry, framing, drywall, masonry, blueprint reading
Construction math, measurement, and layout
Hand and power tools operation and safety
Workplace professionalism and job-site communication
Prepare lesson plans, demonstrations, and instructional activities.
Maintain a safe, organized, and productive learning environment.
Track attendance, student progress, and grades. Collaborate with faculty and staff to support student success.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrated hands-on experience in the construction industry.
Ability to teach and supervise hands-on construction projects in a classroom and lab setting.
Knowledge of construction safety, hand and power tools, basic carpentry, construction math, and blueprint reading.
Strong communication and organizational skills
