Bilingual Insurance Customer Service Representative

Pay: $22–$25 per hour
Job type: Full-time
Location: Worcester, Massachusetts — in person

Company Overview

We are a fast-paced, family-oriented independent insurance agency committed to delivering exceptional service and personalized insurance solutions. As our customer base continues to grow, we are seeking an enthusiastic Bilingual Customer Service Representative who can assist customers in both English and Spanish while supporting our service team with administrative and policy-service work.

Role Overview

This is a strictly customer-service position with no selling, sales quotas, or commission requirements.

You will assist customers in English and Spanish, answer incoming calls and emails, help with billing and policy-service questions, process routine policy changes, and make sure customer requests are handled accurately and completely.

No insurance experience is required. We are willing to train the right candidate on insurance terminology, agency procedures, carrier systems, and SpecialAgent, our agency management system.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service and Front Desk Support

Welcome customers to the office with professionalism and warmth.
Handle incoming telephone calls, emails, and in-person requests in both English and Spanish.
Assist customers with billing questions, policy information, payment options, and documentation requests.
Provide clear and accurate information while referring questions requiring licensed insurance advice to the appropriate team member.
Identify what each customer needs and route requests appropriately.
Build strong customer relationships through patient, empathetic, and proactive communication.
Resolve routine customer concerns and follow through to ensure requests are fully addressed.
Document customer conversations and service activity accurately in SpecialAgent.

Policy Service and Administrative Support

Process routine policy changes, including vehicle, driver, address, mortgage company, and lienholder updates.
Issue identification cards and other policy documents.
Submit service requests to insurance companies and follow up until they are completed.
Manage follow-ups and routine communications with customers and insurance carriers.
Complete and process insurance paperwork and required forms.
Review incoming documents and route them to the appropriate team member.
Maintain accurate electronic customer and policy records.
Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and properly filed.
Assist with gathering and organizing information needed by other team members.
Protect confidential customer and agency information.
Provide other administrative and customer-service support as needed.

Additional responsibilities may be introduced later as the employee gains experience and training.

Requirements and Qualifications

Fluent in spoken English and Spanish.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Friendly, patient, professional, and customer-focused.
Strong active-listening and problem-solving skills.
Able to multitask and stay organized in a busy office environment.
Comfortable managing a steady volume of telephone calls, emails, and service requests.
Accurate and attentive when entering customer and policy information.
Comfortable using computers, email, and standard office software.
Dependable and able to work consistently in our Worcester office.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous office, call-center, banking, insurance, or customer-service experience is helpful but not required.
Insurance experience or a Massachusetts Property and Casualty license is a plus but not required.
Experience with SpecialAgent or another insurance agency management system is a plus but not required.

Work Schedule

Full-time, in-office position.
Monday through Friday.
9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
30-minute lunch break.
No evenings or weekends.

Compensation and Benefits

$22–$25 per hour, based on relevant experience, Spanish-language proficiency, insurance knowledge, and computer skills.
