Summary
Northern Closure Construction, LLC is seeking an experienced General Superintendent to oversee field operations across multiple residential construction projects. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.
Working closely with the Owner and internal team, the General Superintendent will coordinate subcontractors, manage job-level scheduling, and support the successful delivery of homes from groundbreaking through completion. This individual will also contribute to strengthening field processes and helping the company scale its operations across multiple developments.
Key Responsibilities
Field Operations & Execution
- Oversee day-to-day construction activities across multiple active job sites
- Maintain consistent presence across job sites, prioritizing time and attention based on project phase and critical path needs
- Ensure all work aligns with plans, specifications, and company quality standards
- Identify and resolve field issues to keep projects on track
- Coordinate subcontractors, materials, and site activities to ensure proper sequencing and timely completion of work
Scheduling & Coordination
- Develop and maintain short-term schedules (3-week lookahead) for active projects
- Communicate scheduling updates, delays, and changes proactively
- Coordinate with subcontractors and internal team to align timelines and expectations
- Support overall project timelines across multiple builds
- Identify material needs and communicate required quantities and delivery timelines in coordination with the Project Manager
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure materials are ordered and delivered in alignment with project schedules
- Participate in regular coordination meetings to align on project schedules, material needs, and field priorities
Quality Control & Site Management
- Conduct site inspections to ensure quality and workmanship standards are met
- Maintain organized, safe, and professional job sites
- Coordinate inspections and prepare for key project milestones
- Manage punch list completion and project closeout
- Ensure all job sites operate in compliance with OSHA standards and company safety protocols, promoting a safe and accountable work environment
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with the Assistant Project Manager to support project execution
- Provide direction to subcontractors and on-site personnel
- Provide direction to the Assistant Project Manager in support of daily field operations and project coordination
- Serve as a key link between field operations and internal coordination
Client Interaction
- Act as a primary on-site point of contact for homeowners during construction
- Communicate progress updates in a clear and professional manner
- Address questions or concerns and escalate when appropriate
Process Improvement
- Contribute to improving scheduling standards and field processes
- Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and consistency across projects
- Support the development of scalable systems as the company grows
Perform other related duties as needed to support field operations and overall project success
Qualifications
- 5+ years of residential construction experience with strong field leadership
- Ability to manage multiple projects or job sites simultaneously
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and subcontractor coordination
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated with a high level of accountability and follow-through
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between multiple job sites within the region, based on project needs
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, consistent with applicable laws and the requirements of the role

Compensation
- $80,000 – $90,000 annually, based on experience

Physical Requirements
- Ability to move between active job sites and navigate construction environments
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform site inspections for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry materials or equipment up to 25–50 pounds, as needed

Northern Closure Construction, LLC is a year-round, full-service construction management company based in Lewiston, Maine. The company manages residential construction projects throughout the region, with work primarily based in Central and Southern Maine and occasional projects extending beyond.
This role requires regular presence on active job sites, with travel between multiple project locations as needed. Time is spent working both outdoors in varying weather conditions and coordinating with team members and subcontractors across job sites.
The General Superintendent plays a key role in maintaining a professional, organized, and safety-focused job site environment. Project schedules and site needs may require flexibility in daily priorities and occasional adjustments to working hours.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
