As a Security Officer Armed Retail in Syracuse, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. In this armed post, you will support daily operations with agility, reliability, and integrity while working as part of a team that puts people first and values innovative, caring service.

What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and store personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a retail location.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting observations and communicating with local law enforcement and/or management when needed.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the store, entrance areas, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
Monitor access points, high-traffic areas, and customer activity for unusual behavior, and report suspicious conditions, hazards, and/or incidents according to site protocols.
Support loss prevention and asset protection efforts by observing for theft-related activity, assisting with de-escalation when appropriate, and completing detailed incident reports before the end of the shift.

Minimum Requirements:

Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
